First, from Norway

Vøringsfossen

Click 'em for full-size.

This next one's not big or great, but it shows where the hotel is.

Also small, but a good view of the base of the falls. Something tells me it is NOT easy to get down there.

Second, from the border of Vietnam and China:

Detian/Ban Gioc. Click both for full-size.

There's been some recent volcanic activity:

Mayon, as promised, is underway, with potential for ramp-up; evacuations have taken place but some people aren't leaving

Bezymianny in Kamchatka has a reported eruption;

Soufriere Hills (Montserrat) has renewed activity, making things miserable for the remaining locals;

Piton de la Fournaise (La Reunion) had a short eruption on the summit crater rim; there's a really neat time-lapse video here:

IPGP

And finally, I did post on this before, but here's a high-resolution video (even looks good on YouTube) of the West Mata undersea eruption:

The geography of the border between Vietnam and China is amazing. What force caused the “mounds”? (only way i could think of describing it)

It’s karst; eroded limestone. The karst hills probably have a bit of a resistant capstone.

Check out Snoqualmie Falls and Salish Lodge in Washington. Stayed there one night... cost me almost $500.
