The heavyweight of ultra-light mobility

Light and compact, a smartbook is the perfect way to work and play without ever having to stop.

As powerful as a laptop, a smartbook lets you create or enjoy whatever you want while you're on the go. Built-in 3G mobile broadband means you can connect at high speeds wherever your wireless coverage can reach. And like a mobile phone, it lasts as long as you do and is instantly ready to go when you are.

I get so overwhelmed by all the new stuff.

Just give me a cell phone that:
-Can be an MP3 player that stores 1000+ songs
-Can store 4+ hours of video
-Can take pictures at 4+ megapixels
-Can be mounted in my car as a GPS system
-Can surf the internet anywhere for an unlimited amount of time

All for $30 a month.

Are we close to that yet?

I swore that 8-Track would be it....then I swore that cassette player would be it.......then I got a computer and swore that CD/DVD would be it................I'm done.

No mas to this planned obsolescence sh*t. I'm getting out the tent and going out back to camp with the rattlesnakes - and there won't be a Blu Ray in sight; but I'll have my Jitterbug phone handy - just in case.

I haven't figured out whether a smartbook will include a phone....but if it has bluetooth and speakers ...seems like it could depending on how the various manufacturers put it together....

This is shaping up to be a shootout...now that Motorola got its Droid out.

I use a Celio Redfly with my WinMo phone; it basically does all this, but it is two separate parts. One the Redfly, one the phone (connected via Bluetooth). It’s a great concept, handles web browsing, e-mail, phone calls, and lightweight applications (Mobile Office). Lasts forever on a charge, too...

I’m seriously interested in the Smartbook concept, it seems like the next logical step!

When you return from camping you should look at 15" laptops. Easily portable but big enough that you can kill a rattlesnake with it.
