The American Medical Association's much-touted endorsement of the House health care reform bill has triggered a revolt among some members who want the endorsement withdrawn. Some members are outraged that the group's trustees made the endorsement without the formal approval of the organization's House of Delegates. On Monday, delegates will vote on a resolution offered by some members that, if approved, will withdraw the AMAs endorsement of the bill. President Obama cited the endorsement of the influential AMA, along with AARP's, in a surprise appearance Thursday in the White House briefing room as he attempted to beat back criticism that the bill would gut Medicare. "They're endorsing this bill because they know it will strengthen Medicare, not jeopardize it," he told reporters. "They know it will protect the benefits our seniors receive, not cut them." "So I want everyone to remember that the next time you hear the same tired arguments to the contrary from insurance companies and their lobbyists and remember this endorsement the next time you see a bunch of misleading ads on television," he added. Fox News' Trish Turner contributed to this report.

I think the damage is done. The regents sold out.
There is no way to square the crap in the government rationed healthcare bill with the doctor’s Hippocratic Oath, if they still even administer it to new doctors.
Take every bit of encouragement you find and keep working against this monstrosity. It’s not over til it’s over. Tomorrow is a great day to make calls and send faxes!
AAWP liked the catastrophic bill too. The only senious
they like are minorities.
I talked to my Dr. today, he is not an AMA member but he is totally against this bill. He is for health savings accounts to put consumers back in charge, for malpractice reform, stopping insurance usage for routine medical care, and for patients to be able to buy health insurance from anywhere.
He is also trying to work on any of his collegues to quit the AMA. I have also asked a specialist I am using and his sentiments were similar.
From what I understand only 20% of Doctors are AMA members. Based on the revote probably less than half of them approve. Of course some of the 80% non AMA doctors support Pelosi/Reid/Obamacare
A lot late, they should have made this move weeks ago. They need to announce the decision is being made before the bill gets voted in the house.
have a great weekend, all!

Didn’t Obama pass out the coats to the Dr’s for a photo op weeks ago touting the AMA endorsement.
Only to the group’s trustees. Not to the 20% of doctors who belong to the AMA.
