If you're looking for another good Christian film for your kids you might want to check out:
'The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry'
It comes out on September 18th.
Gavin MacLeod plays Jonathan Sperry...
I doubt that the main stream media will even mention it.
I’m waiting for the new movie in October THE BILL COLLECTOR to be released.
I take it that dealing with the bully issue will take a different tact than Rebecca DeMornay in “Hand that Rocks the Cradle.” (Although I’ve been tempted to pull one with a couple of punks at the Boys & Girls Club.)
If it’s along the same vein as “Fireproof”, I’ll be there.
The biggest independent film 2 years back was Fireproof, and the fact that it was sold even in Target and Best Buy is proof of rhe producers knack for making truly independent films regardless of the mainstream media.
When you make a movie like Fireproof which is a quality made film you will make money...when you make crap like An American Carol than you hopefully don’t make money. Hopefully this one is more to the liking of Fireproof. It pisses me off still that FREEPERS said that An American Carol was so good (it sucked!!!!) and I actually bought the dang thing for 20 bucks...Ugh!!!!! I won’t make that mistake again...rental only!!!!
I haven’t seen Fireproof but Facing the Giants was excellent. It’s an example of what people of faith should do. Instead of complaining about the garbage that Hollywood puts out, make the kind of films you want to see. It all started with a church in Georgia and a pastor who encouraged his assistants to trust the Lord to do a new thing.
I took my family to see The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry last night. The movie theater was absolutely packed - sold out. Everyone clapped when the movie was over. It was a wonderful evening.
Saw it last night. Excellent!
