A continuation of an irregular series of geological features in state parks: this one is Elephant Rocks State Park in Missouri. Please read my notes after the final image.

Same view, different season

This last image comes from a revelatory Web site, by Scott Haefner: Scott Haefner photography

He has a huge variety of photographs (most of which could be ordered as prints), and you have GOT to see his Bubble 360 panoramas!

Links to the panoramas are on the home page. To get to images organized by theme, click on "Photo Gallery" at the top of the home page, then "View all sets" under the topic cloud on the right side of the Photo Gallery page. Under "South Island" [New Zealand] there is an amazing picture of Lake Wakatipu, a setting which I think was used in the Lord of the Rings-wannabe movie "Willow". I could get lost on this site and take months to come back.

Here's another one from Haefner, can't resist. This is Emerald Bay of Lake Tahoe in the winter. Lake Tahoe trivia: the little island in Emerald Bay has a unique distinction. Anyone know what it is? (Not hard to figure out.)
