Memo to the White House: Not only was flying a Presidential jet for a photo-op Monday over downtown Manhattan in bad taste it was unnecessary.
Anyone in the White House ever hear of Photoshop?
You'd think the administration would've been tech-savvy enough to realize the merits of the computer software program what with its constant Internet spin doctoring and the President's notorious BlackBerry infatuation.
The cost of flying one of Obama's official planes a pimped-out Boeing 747 along with a F-16 jet over the city cost upwards of $300,000 in taxpayer dollars.
In comparison, the latest deluxe version of Adobe Photoshop "CS4 Extended" costs $999.
So the White House wanted shots of the presidential plane with the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Ground Zero? With some stock images, few minutes and a couple of clicks of a mouse, a White House staffer could've placed the jet in front of just about any New York landmark.
We should know. We did just that. [Ahem, see photos to the right.]
But we can't be the only ones with a flair for Photoshopping. Think you can do better? Be our guest.
Here's how:
1: Copy the Air Force one photo provided at the top of this story.
2: Graft it onto your favorite family snapshot or New York City photo.
3: Upload it directly to our Web site by clicking below in the "Your NewYork" section. Choose the category: Photoshop planes.
And finally, check back tomorrow to see the results.
That would be awesome! Have him piloting the plane or something....LOL
That would pretty much maximize the offensiveness of all of this.
LOL!!! That is too good!
sw
IMDB lists the status of the movie as “Filming.”
That’s my hunch. A payback to Hollywood.
Where is that gif of all the Obama drones dropping into a hole in the ground? We should do one with that gif and AF1! I forgot to bookmark the gif last time I saw it on FR.
The only thing I could think of was a photo of Obama
with the statue of liberty in view in the plane’s window.
That of course would mean he had to be aboard. Of course
they could have photoshopped him in later but then they
could have shopped the whole thing.
Did they shoot from the chase planes?
did they have photogs on the ground?
this whole thing stinks, and we need to investigate
this FULLY.
I cant post a pic from work since I cant get to my photobucket account but I’ll post what I just made when I get home. Thanks for the idea.
There I was, relaxing on the rear balcony of my apartment in the Minhang district of Shanghai, China getting some nice photos of the beautiful, sunny morning and WHAT SHOULD I SPOT but Air Force One coming in for a landing to Hongqiao Airport (about 10 km North of my place)! So I snapped a photo...
Then just two days later as I was down on East Nanjing Road doing a little shopping (needed a new beard trimmer) and looked up and caught Air Force One once again! Probably took off from Pudong Airport, and stayed low over the Bund and the wonderful English architecture there, to get some nice photo-ops.
Man, I should have bought a few lottery tickets that month...
Before I even saw the caption, I thought, “That looks like somewhere in China.”
"Air Force 1... Bitch..."
Good eye... Looks like no place else on Earth!
Wow! That’s great!
