San Jose gun club hit by thieves. 100 weapons stolen.

The Gun Exchange in San Jose says someone broke in and stole more than 100 weapons early Thursday morning.

As many as 100 guns, including rifles and pistols, were taken from a gun shop on Almaden Expressway in San Jose.

The store is on Almaden Expressway and the theft was reported at 5:15 a.m.

Police say three men in ski masks pried their way through the front door which triggered an alarm.

The alarm company could hear what was happening through a hidden microphone. They said the thieves were saying, "Hey, let's get the guns and get out of here."

Police arrived within six minutes but the guns and the men had already cleared out.

San Jose police officer Jermaine Thomas said a surveillance camera captured images of three masked males.

The owner of the club, Mike Fournier said most of the stolen weapons were semi-automatic pistols and revolvers. He said two assault rifles were also taken and some collectible guns.

Wow! They stole 100 weapons in 6 minutes?

That’s a professional job.

(sarcasm attempt warning) you mean that they criminals might dare sell a gun without a permit and license and to someone who doesn’t have a permit and license?

oh, that’s right, only lawful people follow the law.

I grew up in San Jose (it was a small, peaceful farm town then) and know where the Almaden Expressway is, though not the location of the gun club. My BIL is a deputy sheriff in that county (Santa Clara) now. He moved his family to Watsonville to get away from the crime in San Jose.

I call BS. It wasn’t,
“Hey, let’s get the guns and get out of here.”

It was obviously,
“Ayo, git da gatz ‘n git outta hurr!”

All those strict gun laws sure are effective at keeping the guns out of criminal hands, aren’t they?

There is no way 3 guys pulled 100 guns off a shelf into a bag or container and walked out in less than 6 minutes. Just think about the logistics of moving around. Besides being mathematically improbable these guys have boxes of stuff all over the floor, behind the counter. You would have to be in a pretty big hurry to grab 100 guns and not trip over the boxes of merchandise.

I say the cops are leaving out crucial information and it was an inside job by someone who knew there were 100 guns in boxes making it easier to carry the boxes to a waiting van or truck.

That's 100 guns at 9 pounds each and in 6 boxes @15 guns per box.

How would you know there were 100 guns in 6 boxes and that you had to move PDQ to escape? Unless you worked there.

Also, the guns stolen from there would be mostly bolt action. They don't sell very many semi-auto.

So look for who doesn't show up for work or is acting weird. Which most of the guys there are and they ain't to helpful.

I kept trying to buy a gun and the owner set it aside for me. Everytime I came in the damn thing was moved, on hold or sold. Except when I would ask the owner about it he would say it is still here and make one of his employees go in the back and bring it out. But I would usually run out of time, tell them I would be back on such and such a day at about a certain time. Sure enough, the gun was not available.

The owner is a real nice guy, very knowledgeable and helpful. But unless you kiss his employees ass they don't offer too much in the way of information.

Like I say, Inside job.

Went back and looked at the end of the article. Mostly handguns, a few “semi-auto and some collectibles.

Handguns are shipped in bulk at 20 to 30 per box. Now it is even easier.

Still an inside job. Why waste time with collectibles unless you covet them and could never afford one? Because stealing is the only way you can get em’.

If they were mostly handguns at 2 pounds each they could just about do it but then you have to realize, we’re talking about 6 minutes SJPD Time. SJPD Time is like aloha time only much slower. And of course the clock doesn’t start when you make the call but when they finish their quiche.
