PAPER: OLYMPIC HERO PICTURED SMOKING BONG... DEVELOPING...
'NEWS OF THE WORLD' SET TO ROCK SPORTS WITH SHOCK PHOTO, STORY...
Bode Miller is my guess.
Swim a little, smoke a little.
Ummm, what’s his name, world’s fastest man?
Phelps was my first thought as well.
He seems to have been spending much time in Vegas with a questionable crowd along with a girlfriend who’s a stripper.
We’ll see.
I’m putting my money on Phelps.

it could be Phelps. He used to smoke the competition now he smokes the funny stuff.
Who cares? He’s a 23 year old kid. Everybody come clean about your own habits at that age before throwing stones.
On the other hand, I saw a recent photo of Phelps. He looks like he’s been hitting the Cheetos pretty hard.
After all these years... Italy’s Alberto Tomba smoking an espresso through a bong ... still realing from Katerina Witt kicking him to the curb at the Norway games ... maybe ;-)
At age 23, I was only beginning to hit my stride.
Oh, wait--you said smoking a bong...never mind.
Well, we know one thing for sure....it won’t stop him/her from becoming POTUS.
He’s way mellow.
New York Post
The blurb asks Which Olympic Champion smoked pot for the first time recently at a Michigan hotel? The stoned athlete broke the TVs in his room, but later bought exact replicas so he could replace them before anybody at the hotel was the wiser
On a side note, its been rumored that Phelps broke up with his girlfriend and nude model/cocktail waitress Caroline Caz Pal. The Olympian told Regis and Kelly hes not seeing anyone.

Millions in endorsements out the window in the snap of a finger
Bad randog! LOL!
Well, bong rhymes with schlong.
Where is the damn picture? I want to see it before I flame him or her.
Phelps trains in Michigan
I agree. So what if he smoked a little pot from a bong? Leave the kid alone.
Probably Phelps... I am saddened. I understand that while all his pals were partying, for years he was in the pool, and now probably feels it’s “his turn” but he is truly a hero to a lot of little kids. It’s sad. I wish he could have been more discreet.
I have never smoked anything in my life unless you consider ‘smoking’ a roast on the smoker ‘smoking’.
Some people have all the luck.
Oh, that was difficult. ;)
Yeah. Gawd knows I had my wild streak growing up. You’re right, tho. Kids have few heroes these days.
I’d say Jamaica’s Usiah Bolt, 100 meter gold medalist and world record holder. He is Jamaican after all.
I think it must be a big letdown to be so focused on attaining something like an Olympic medal, then accomplish it, then wake up the next day and find out, yeah, maybe you are going to get a little more money (compared to what it cost to train all those years, though), but beyond that NO ONE CARES.

At 23 he is not a kid anymore. He is an adult.
Now, that is funny.
One party-goer who witnessed the stars behaviour told the News of the World: He was out of control from the moment he got there.
If he continues to party like that Id be amazed if he ever won any more medals again.
Phelps aides went into a panic over our story and offered us a raft of extraordinary incentives not to run the bong picture.
It was on November 6, weeks after his Beijing triumph, that 23-year-old Phelps surprised students at the University Of South Carolina in Columbia by showing up unannounced at a house party.
He was visiting Jordan Matthews, a girl he was secretly seeing who was a student there.
Our source revealed: Michael came to visit Jordan but ended up just getting wasted every night.
He didnt know many people so youd think hed be a little shy. But he was loud, obnoxious and slamming beers from the get-go.
Every girl wanted a piece of him and every guy wanted to be his best buddy. He couldnt get enough of all the attention.
As he basked in his hero status, Phelps knocked back beers and shots of spirits. And when a student offered him the glass bong engraved with red writing, he did not hesitate, says our source.
The 6ft 4ins athlete, in a white T-shirt and navy cap worn back to front, clasped the device in his huge hands and inhaled deeply.
Our source said: You could tell Michael had smoked before. He grabbed the bong and a lighter and knew exactly what to do.
He looked just as natural with a bong in his hands as he does swimming in the pool. He was the gold medal winner of bong hits. Michael ended up getting a little paranoid, though, because before too long he looked like he was nervous and ran out of the place.
How will this affect his swimming? /s
As a 20 year old I simply do not see myself as a “kid” and the simple fact is that smoking dope in the USA is illegal in most situations.
But did he inhale?
The up side is that he might get that lucrative Doritos deal.
Doesn’t even look that much like him.
Male, dark hair, big nose. That could be any of 10 million other college-age kids.
I’d go with the “that’s not me” defense.
Drink has got Phelps into trouble before. In 2004, aged 19, he got 18 months probation for driving while under the influence.
He once described his life, saying: All you do is eat, sleep, swim; eat, sleep, swim; eat, sleep, swim.
Last night Phelps management team and the sporting world closed ranks over the scandal.
Spokesman Clifford Bloxham offered us an extraordinary deal not to publish our story, saying Phelps would become our columnist for three years, host events and get his sponsors to advertise with us.
In return, he asked that we kill Phelps bong picture. Bloxham said: Its seeing if something potentially very negative for Michael could turn into something very positive for the News of the World.
He stressed that the swimmer had taken 1,500 drug tests and never failed one.
Until now?
That may not be true anymore. Dear Leader has been mentioned as wanting to legalize it.
Based on those big ears that stick out, I would say it is him.
Yeah, ‘cause nobody else has big ears that stick out.
Not like that. It is one of his defining features.
I agree. So what if he smoked a little pot from a bong? Leave the kid alone.
Yeah, so what? Look what a little tokin' did for the resume and career of The One, O-Bong-a.
The ears in that picture aren’t in profile. There is no way to compare them to the tabloid picture.
When Phelps stopped training he continued his usual intake of calories. No surprise that he gained weight.
