This (civilian) understands completely, the profound and complete distrust on this board, of our new Commander in Chief. He’s hiding everything most reasonable people wish he would voluntarily show us, and his friends have been a bunch of terrorists and marxists.

There are a lot of reasons to be skeptical.

But there’s one thing about Obama. He hasn’t, said he “loathes” our military.

It’s just possible, as he learns more about the capabilities and the people, most of us never hear about, he will reach an epiphany - and realize those capabilities an those people aren’t “theirs”.

They’re “ours”...

It’s possible.

This poster would sure like to see evidence that’s what’s happening.

How about it, Mr. President?

Show us you are a Patriot.

Show us.

They are Marines. Their reaction is their way of keeping their honor clean.

“”Just wanted to say hi, hey guys,” Obama said “

I guess he couldn’t bring himself to walk in and say “Merry Christmas and thanks for your service”

The number will go up once he starts to use the military for his pet projects.

At present, Obama has no authority

He occupies the "Office of the President-elect."

I hear it has its own official seal.

Why would they welcome someone who gave encouragement to our enemies,,,

and "AID-AND-COMFORT" to our enemies during time of war with his incessant calls for a pull-out before the job was done??

That very encouragement to our enemies helped prolong the war--and likely cost American lives.

The military will never respect a communist president. I would never send my sons to fight under this guy, sorry. He’d probably force them to join the UN Army.

As Obama entered the room, it was absent of the regular fanfare of cheering and clapping.

Stupid ABC News! There was no "regular fanfare of cheering and clapping" because Obama doesn't rate any. Obama didn't belong there. "President-elect" is a status, not an office nor a title. Obama holds no office nor any military rank. He is a civilian. He hasn't even proven he is a citizen. And he intruded on our servicemen's Christmas dinner!

Our servicemen behaved properly and politely...far more so than Obama's boorish behavior warranted. A real "press" would know and report this instead of behaving like cheerleaders.

A man who presumes to be a leader doesn’t gain credibility by walking in trying pass himself off as one of the ‘guys.’ Am I right, vets?

Well first of all, Marines are not soldiers they are MARINES. And for this imbicile to give a shout out of “ I just stopped in to say hi..hay guys” would leave a lot to be desired. What did he expcet of these Marines,,to jump up and kiss his ring? I’ll bet many of them have a distrust of this guy. It reminds me of HIllary’s visit to the army troops and that famous picture of her shaking hands with a soldier who has his fingers crossed.

He will never ever be one of us, active or retired military. He has not earned the right to even wear the USMC tee shirt he likes to sport when playing midnight basketball. He thinks that wearing that will make him accepted and part of us. He can try to suck up to the military all he wants and he may have some generals in his camp as his shills, but the regular military guy and gal will not forget the ugly things he said about them..and yes when they get orders they will turn to and do as told but it does not mean they like it or him..I would be so surprised if we should ever see a spontaneous cheering the likes of which warms our hearts when Bush came to visit. The difference between these two men is that Bush really cares about the service personnel ( and his WH staff too) and they know this. He is not self centered. In the case of 0bama,,it is all grandstanding and all about him. He is a narcissist and bound in the end to fail.
I wonder if he understands what silent contempt is..would he even recognize it? I kind of doubt it..he is too full of himself.

I have no actual knowledge of what is going on but my personal experience is that they would have plans in place. All commands go through exercises of various scenarios of world wide potential threats so my bet would be yes they have or are considering plans.

Keep it simple.

Obama isn’t yet President.

Press reports he’s in Hawaii. If the powers that be are briefing him in preparation for the Presidency, then it isn’t too surprising he’s at a military base in Hawaii, (although if that were the case, it would probably be at FICPAC or twenty other commands on Hawaii other than Kaneohe).

If he’s been working out at Kaneohe, the Marines have probably already received the scuttlebutt to mind their own business until he’e sworn in as President and to less complicate the duties of the Secret Service.

Obama probably just thought he could play George Bush by showing up at a Mess Hall and expect a warm reception. Except it’s like Police Officer Candidate McMurray being assigned to a beat in downtown Richmond CA, while he’s still at the Acadamy, not yet an officer, pops his head in at the basketball court while some ‘Bloods and ‘Crips’ are taken a breather between head bashing Midnight basketball and says, “Hi there fellow citizens, I just wanted to pop in and say Hey!, while I’m in the neighborhood and look forward to working with you hard working fellows during the next four years,...then pops his head back out before the audience really cares to respond.

He doesn’t yet have any authority, nor is he in the chain of command, so the Marines aren’t disrespecting him. They simply are honoring the existing chain of command by not affording him more respect than that his present rank rates.

I suspect they all felt a little bit on pins and needles knowing any response could be perceived for more than what it was.

Let’s not forget, Bush is also a fighter pilot. He’s been through OCS, flight school and served active duty time, regardless how short.

I don't think I have ever heard of a President or President-Elect getting this sort of reaction from uniformed military personnel.

I don't recall ever hearing of a president-elect prancing around military bases at Christmas acting like he's the president already.

These troops are alert enough to realize that right now Obama is a nobody who has no authority and no office. He doesn't warrant any particular recognition at this stage. Plenty of time for them to do their duty after inauguration day.
