Don’t blame me for inciting male hormones. I just use fashion, and clothes have no affect on men with brains. Of course I am dissapointed with my man who fails to respond to my incitement of his male hormones, but that does not mean that all men react hormonally to my slut photos... /s

Perhaps it’s because it’s the difference in a real nipple and a fake zombie head? However, since there are so many outlets these days for those who choose to to see all the nipples they could possibly desire, why is Eva (or anyone else) concerned? And of course, the other difference is probably that it’s a commercial, so an unsuspecting family might be watching something with their kids, and suddenly there it is, whereas they could choose NOT to watch the exploding zombiehead movie. I personally am sick to death of viagra ads too. Are most men in this country impotent? (that might actually explain a lot of things!)

The “male enhancement” commercials really annoy me (and, yes, I carry a Y chromosome and two marbles). Don’t get me started on those late night infomercials about “internal cleansing” where they guy obsesses about his baby daughter’s bowel movements.

Yuk, glad I’ve missed the baby bowel one!
Yes, the male enhancement ones are really stupid too. What is the deal with American men? If anyone from another planet is watching our TV they think ya’ll have a serious problem! ;)

LOL. OK. I’ll try another tack.

The commercial cannot be viewed because of the appearance of a nipple. No, wait. I mean the female nipple. There is absolutely no problem in showing the male nipple. Both genders have them, usually a matching pair, but only the functional ones have to be covered up at all times.

Thank you. It was as I guessed:

* The percentage of infants who were ever breastfed increased from 60% among infants who were born in 1993-1994 to 77% among infants who were born in 2005-2006.
* There was no significant change in the rate of breastfeeding at 6 months of age for infants born between 1993 and 2004.

So, the it's hard to tell much from this other than that more mothers are at least trying it. But, even if they just breastfeed for a few days they are considered to have breast fed their infant. I think the more telling stat is the one that says that there was no change in the rate of breastfeeding at 6 months. I wish they had also done one at 4 months. I'm glad more moms are trying it, but I'm sad that they are not sticking with it.

LOL. I don’t, but some of the women I have been with over the years seem to find them so. At least in the heat of, uh, battle, as it were.

You?

I really don’t find strange male nipples, especially in photographs or video, erotic, and I bet most women don’t. And there is your answer. They also don’t show the parts of men on TV that women find erotic. And women are far less visual than men.
Come on, one need only read thru any thread in which a man can say “We need pictures!” or “She’s HOT!” to know what the deal is. And you know it, you’re just pushing my buttons! ;)

I have studied those CDC statistics (I love studying all kinds of statistics) and you will find a lot of regional and demographic differences. Breastfeeding rates are highest in the Western states (Mountain & Pacific) and lowest in the Deep South and Kentucky and West Viriginia. According to the latest statistics, Alaska had the highest initiation rate at 88%, while Mississippi had the lowest at 50%. Urban/suburban areas tend to have higher rates than rural areas. A lot of this is tied to education and income. Women who are college-educated and from higher-income families are more likely to breastfeed and these women are more likely to be in urban/suburban areas than rural areas. The only real exception to the income/education rule is poor, recent-immigrant Hispanic women. They tend to have pretty high breastfeeding rates. Hispanics, overall, had an 80% initiation rate, second only to Asians/Native Hawaiians. Plus, hospitals in urban/suburban areas tend to have more breastfeeding support staff. Having traveled a lot, I think the reason why the West has higher rates has a lot to with the outdoorsy, nature-loving, self-reliant spirit of the people out there. The Deep South and Appalachia are generally poor and the use of WIC (which gives away free formula) is quite high in those areas. A number of WIC offices have tried to become more supportive of breastfeeding but still push formula quite a bit. Good support and education are the biggest keys to breastfeeding success. I will be a big supporter for my future wife and children.

I agree about WIC. When we had our first child we qualified for WIC, but we didn’t partake. They really pushed the formula (I breast fed for 6 months). I had a friend who took full advantage. I went to her house once and she had a pantry closet stocked FULL of formula. I asked her why she had so much, because there was no way she could use all of that. She said, “It was free”.

If you think that one was bad, then you haven’t watched “Once Upon a Time in Mexico”. Don’t waste your time.

I find that I often don't "get" highly praised "important" movies, like the Academy Award winning "No Country for Old Men." All through the movie, I kept waiting for the movie to make sense... Instead it simply went from one violent scene to the next. It was a throughly unsatisfying experience. I thought the same thing about another movie that I've heard was really excellent: "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead." Again, with the exception of a nekkid Marissa Tomei, that movie was just completely unsatisfying: Lots of pointless violence.

I’m so glad I’m a woman and don’t HAVE to see her naked to feel complete!

Well, to quote Ron White, "Once you've seen one woman nekkid, you want to see all of them nekkid."

No, I’ve seen women naked. I don’t feel the need to see any more of them naked.
And....btw....I think there are plenty of women out there NO ONE wants to see naked! ;)
