Now THAT was funny!
I have a friend whose goal in life is to make the telemarketers hang up on him. He had one guy from some vitamin co. call him and he led them on and on. He would pretend interest, ask a question and agree to buy. They wanted his credit card and he would start to give it to them and half way through come up with another question. Then he would increase the size of his order. Another question would need to be answered by a supervisor, so he would trot off to ask and come back.
Since he was sitting watching the football game he didn’t mind wasting time dragging it out.... they hung up after 2 and a half hours.
Another friend answers the “how are you today” question by announcing that her husband just died suddenly. That really throws them.
I work at a plant and we are constantly getting telemarketing calls asking for our safety director to try and sell us over priced safety equipment. They ask to speak with our safety director and I tell them he was injured at work last week and will be off till he gets released from the Doc. Get a lot of calls trying to sell us magazines and I tell them I can’t read.
LOL!
If I’m at my desk, and it’s a computerized call, I just put the phone down, keep on working, and don’t hang up until I hear the dial tone. Each time I do it, I’m tying up their line and that’s one less person they’ll manage to bother that day. If we all did it, they’d make no sales and have no reason to keep pestering people.
LOL
bump for later
Ping for a great video.
