545 People
Vanity | Charlie Reese

RE-ELECT NOBODY! This is worthy of your time and attention … regardless of your Party Affiliation

545 PEOPLE By Charlie Reese –

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices – 545 human beings out of the 300 million – are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ,it's because they want them in IRAQ.

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like 'the economy,' 'inflation,' or 'politics' that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses – provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

I read it before, seen it a couple times in my inbox too. Makes too much sense for people to take it seriously. Gotta go watch some tv now. ;-)

So good. The corrupt “Two-Party Cartel” which has basically prevented any other pol parties from ever flourishing shoves their crapola down us. Then they tell you that if you don’t vote for one then your only avenue is the other corrupt faction. Do we really believe that the “Little Boy Barry” or the “Tin Man” deserve a vote?

Charlie is a senile old palenstinian loving coot. His premise is right, but he puts far too little of the blame where it belongs-—with DEMS/RINOs/Liberals.

Stay retired Charlie.

I don’t about Charlie’s senility or mental state, but he puts the blame where it belongs, on all politicians. We have far more Rinos then we should have in congress, they are the same as liberals. Every word he says in this article, regardless of when it was really written, is true and he is partisan about it, he sides with no one and puts the blame where it belongs, on the 545 individuals that we have stupidly elected over the last 50 years or so. This is just MO.

‘On [that] world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people.’

‘Odd,’ said Arthur, ‘I thought you said it was a democracy?’

‘I did,’ said Ford, ‘It is.’

‘So,’ said Arthur, hoping he wasn’t sounding ridiculously obtuse, ‘why don’t the people get rid of the lizards?’

‘It honestly doesn’t occur to them,’ said Ford. ‘They’ve all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they’ve voted in more or less approximates to the government they want.’

‘You mean they actually vote for the lizards?’

‘Oh yes,’ said Ford with a shrug, ‘of course.’

‘But,’ said Arthur, going for the big one again, ‘why?’

‘Because if they didn’t vote for a lizard,’ said Ford, ‘the wrong lizard might get in.’

The more I read and see about this election cycle, which seems to have begun in November, 2004, the more convinced I am that we already live in an “Idiocracy”.

If you haven’t seen the movie, which shows up on cable pretty frequently lately, rent it. It is a scarier vision of the future than “1984” ever was!

I’ve been thinking about joining the Constitution Party for a while. Ever since I quit the GOP when McCain became the nominee.

I’ve read ol’ Charlie for 25 years in Orlando. Anyone can bitch about things, which is all he is doing. He may seem ‘BI’ partisan, but he is complaining about the eoconmy, which the democrats have done everything in their power to hamper. Any honest assessment of the economy should have included the fact that liberals oppose efforts to boost the economy at every turn.

The republicans in general have been good at articulating that, so they aren’t blameless. Anyway, it’s just an e-mail and not a real article so no big deal.

It’s stupid and demonstrates why the Constitution Party is going nowhere and is on it’s way to the dust bin of history.

Sad too. They had a lot of promise before the kooks hijacked it.

Is this the same party started by the late, great Aaron Russo? I remember him complaining on Art Bell about how said party had been taken over by the snake handlers.

The republicans, of late, are just as much to blame as the democrats, they are democrat lite, slower getting there but the same ultimate goal in the long run. Not all republicans, but enough of them are Rinos now, democrats invading our party, that republicans are not much different than the dems. We are responsible for who we vote, and this guy, Charlie, may be prejudiced towards the dems but this article doesn’t give that indication, it sounds like he thinks both parties are culpable, and he is right.

Exactly so Null and void. One of my favorite book series by the way. Hitchhikers and Restaurant at the end of the Universe, hilarious and so much truth in some of the humor.

Charli Reese is a diaper wearing moron. But he hits it home with this one that he must have wrote in a rare (and unseemingly for him,) moment of clarity.

Luckily (/s) he didn’t loose all perspective of his place in this world because he did completely removing any reference to the controlled media he earns his living from and their abilty to BS, intimidate and sway the masses that do vote these corrupt blood suckers into office.

Case in point - I was asked yesterday out of the blue if McCain was still running? She was watching Sunday news shows and said not one single reference to McCain was made in her 4 hour sitdown with remote in hand.

Our watch dog press is eating steak while politicians get free stock options in the beef market.
