The "Free" Republic obviously practices censorship. I have recently sent in two messages o their forum, and I noticed that a message "subitted for review" appears as soon as you click the "send" button.
I do not use obscenity. I am articulate enough that I do not need it. Conversely, I do not use "political correctness" for the same reason. The Free Reppublic could easily edit out inappropriate messages with word keys, like all other forums. A "review" of each post is evidence that they have no intiention of being a FREE FORUM.
The Free Republic is not a forum for free thinkers. It is a fourm for the Herd--for those who want to kiss up to Jim Robinson. If you are an advocate of freedom, this forum is not for you.
This post will be submitted on other nation-wide forums to ensure that it is published because I am certain it is too "free" to be published on the "Free Republic" forum.

It’s not uncommon on ANY private forum for new members to have their posts moderated. It saves everyone a lot of headaches & aggravation. When it’s shown the poster didn’t sign up just to cause trouble they are taken off moderation & their posts show up immediately. I wouldn’t take it personally.

For one thing- Someone as *articulate* as yourself might want to tell us just when the “subitted for review” pieces took place.
For another- Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We’re working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!
It says nothing of free speech as it is a private project that Jim Rob ALLOWS us to use.
You have no Constitutional Right to be here or even speak here. Your Right is to make your own website and voice whatever you want from it.
Deal with it.
