People usually have a real hard time restricting their intake of carbohydrates.
Great post & I agree, its gotta be a lifestyle change. I’ve been learning to eat clean for the past few years (along with exercise) and it shows, I’m in better shape than ever. Yet people who have known me the whole time and watched my progress over the years will still ask “when does it end?” or “so when do you get to stop dieting?” It drops my jaw even though these people are typically unhealthy and/or fat.
The saying "eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper" has been around for a long time for good reason.
“Sleeping eight hours from midnight to 8 AM is less effective than sleeping six hours from 10 PM to 4 AM.
My Chinese herbal Doc, and Chinese girlfriend keep claiming this also.
I lost 40 pounds in 4 months, now 6’2”, 190, by changing the way I eat completely. But I guess I’m doin’ it wrong! I stopped going to the local restaurant for breakfast. Now I have a piece of fruit, one piece of toast, and my obligatory 24 oz of java. I have a small sandwich for lunch maybe 3 times a week, or just a piece of fruit. Stirfry for dinner. Usually rather late. I am going to bed earlier, and sleeping better. AND, I no longer have to take my daily dose of Prevacid! Cut out beef. Too hard to digest. If I had cut out my beer intake, I wouldn’t weigh anything at all!
Eat hearty in the morning and sparingly in the evening and never at night.
I lost 40 pounds between Labor Day 1997 and Easter 1998 by doing the exact opposite. The worst part for me was going to bed hungry. So I would drizzle-feed myself during the day and eat a frozen diet dinner just as I was putting my feet between the sheets. The dinner held me until I could get to sleep. Otherwise I would just lay there in agony.

Off topic, sorry.
Is anyone else having trouble with the net over the last 24 - 36 hours?
Pages loading and refreshing slowly?
I just had surgery on my foot and had to stop working out for 6 weeks and gained 5 pounds. I'm now back at the gym and expect the weight will be gone soon. I need to have surgery on the other foot but I want to lose the five pounds first.
Yes, with my computer at home and at work.
Um, fat is NOT a organ. Biology calls shenanigans on you.
I never met a carbohydrate I didn’t like! I love cookies and pasta and warm rolls, and, and, and...
I hate the thought of exercising in the morning, but I swear by my morning ritual...get out of bed, do ten minutes of Farmer Burns Stomach Flatteners, ten minutes of the stomach vacuum and 100 waist turners. These make me wide awake. I do my main bodyweight exercise routine at night. I’m not a big breakfast eater, but I do like my morning concoction that consists of 3 oz. of ground flaxseed, 1 cup of OJ and 1 large banana. Toss it in the blender and gulp it down. Also, one egg and one slice of whole wheat toast. That’s about 10 grams of fiber, plus the benefits of the omega 3s in the flaxseed.
Everyone’s body/system is different. If that works for you, then you should do it. I once lost over 73 pounds but I’ve gained a bit back. On dialysis they encourage you to eat a lot of protein and not so many vegetables. I could probably make it if I didn’t eat all those carbs though.
Thanks Muggs.
What changed, I wonder?
And when will it be fixed?
Yes. I just got DSL and it should be faster than this. Frustrating. FR is loading slowly, too.

Yes, I’m 30 and my weight gain accelerated after age 25.
