I'm on a weight-loss plan now that's just based on reasonable portions and somewhat better food choices, nothing insane, no tofu or flashy workouts...just common sense. We'll see how it works.

You're probably on the right track. I remember from some previous thread that we are about the same age (30ish?), so maybe your weight issues are similar to mine. I mentioned in post #9 how I gained 40 pounds when I was 28-29. This was because I was eating the same way I had been eating since I was a teenager and didn't recognize that my metabolism had slowed down. Once I realized I couldn't eat that way anymore, and moved towards a normal 2000 cal/day diet (that didn't rely on eating out all the time), the pounds came off in a few months.

Yes, I’m 30 and my weight gain accelerated after age 25.
