More Voting Machine Problems - Greenwich CT
vanity | 11/7/06 | CatoRenasci

Posted on 11/07/2006 9:10:13 AM PST by CatoRenasci

Just another report of voting machine problems: in Greenwich, Connecticut, when we voted this morning as the polls opened at 6am, only one machine out of 6 was working. The back-up was significant, as there were dozens of voters waiting.

Now, this is strange: these are machines that have been in use for more than 20 years. Why, all of a sudden could the poll workers not get them unlocked? Who knows.

It was strange - in contrast to the usual pleasant voting experience, people were testy, the poll workers somewhat confused and in a couple of instances, actually rude.

Also, in a normally Republican district, there were a whole lot more signs for Lament and Dianne Farrell than there were for Lieberman or Shays (3 or 4 to 1). The Demoncrats had people standing just beyond the 75 foot sign (no campaigning within 75 feet of a polling place), but there were no Republicans in sight.

Explain this to me. So why is it that the problems are ALL in areas where the local Govt that administers the Elections machinery is run by the Democrat Party? Are you telling us the Democrats are too incompetent to manage something as simple as an election?

Why the heck should we put Democrats in charge of anything? They always manage to screw it up.

Is Greenwich Connecticut controlled by the Democrats?

Are you sure the headline shouldn't read "vending machine problems" instead of "voting machine problems"? Those Greenwichers deeply appreciate their vending machine Hotpocket(tm) brand trans-fat enriched artery-cloggers. Hence their delight with the notion of public healthcare. This way I get to help them pay for their triple-by-passes about the time they should be having their mid-life crises.

Isn't it usual for Republicans to vote early and Democrats late?

Maybe why this is why the machines are breaking down 'early' to discourage GOP voters.

The MSM has come out at 9:10AM Pacific to declare Democrats have taken 411 House seats, 82 Senate seats, the presidencies/leadership posts of France and North Korea and the Acadamy Awards for Special Effects and Best Fictional Documentary. /s>

All due respect, what's your problem with Connecticut?

I'm not from Greenwich like Cato is, but still...that's rude!

Heard a report on the radio, that a red district in TN had problems with voting machines also. People were told they were out of luck.

When the polls opened at 6AM, there were no problems at all in Greenwich's "District 5".

My parents live in East Haven, comrade, and I was raised in a seaport town called Mystic, so I know from where I speak. And you really must admit, whether you have been to CT or not, CT is a blue state, one of the bluest, true blue, you could say, as clear an azure as the vaults of the Agean sky, only we're talking about CT, land of suburbs and strip malls, a commuter state of bedroom communities lodged somewhere between NYC and Boston.

Tell that to those who have decided either not to vote or to vote Dim.

these are machines that have been in use for more than 20 years.

Maybe that is why only one in six was working. :)

Good to see that many people turning out though.

Problems in Denver, too. Reports of problems with voting machines and long lines.

WX is gorgeous so the turnout is BIG, but being it's Denver, I'm not sure if that's good for Repubs or not.
