"The final version of Mozilla Firefox 2.0 was slated for release tomorrow, but appears to already be available for download via releases.mozilla.org," MacNN reports. "Firefox 2.0 features built-in anti-phishing controls, built-in RSS and XML feed-viewing capabilities, and a new inline spell checker. Further Firefox 2.0 features include the ability to create bookmarks with "Live Titles" for websites that offer "microsummaries," a new Add-ons manager that simplifies management of extensions as well as themes, and support for Javascript 1.7."

Posting this in Firefox 2.0...

So far, so good. Acts a lot like Safari...

Cool. I get to test IE 7, FF 2, and Opera 9.02 all in the same week.

I wonder which I can get to
1) Crash first
2) Be enough of a security risk, even behind a NAT and firewill to lose Domain recognition.
3) Get a virtual system infected with a really nasty piece of malware.

It says nothing about being a "demo" version and seems complete to me.

Well, Safari's pop-up blocker is better... Pop-up ads appeared on a couple of sites that Safari blocks pop-ups on completely.

Got this midday yesterday. It's gorgeous and whoever was spreading tall tales on another thread about RC3 being essentially the final version was wrong, wrong, wrong.

Stable, fast, slick...everything we've come to expect from Firefox!

I use both - it has been my experience that if you keep your adblock filters up to date, FireFox blocks ads - inclusing popups - better than Safari does. The adblock updates are at Pierceive.

One thing I've noticed is that even with Firefox 2.0 disabling the Fasterfox extension, the browser renders web pages very quickly. I'm impressed.

Question... Does RC3 = 2.0?

That's how I understand it to work. The last RC essentially becomes the release when officially "accepted". If so, I've officially been on 2.0 for a week. :-)
