Police find hand in jar at home of nude dancer
The Star-Ledger (NJ) ^ | 7/25/2006 | TOM HAYDON AND SULEMAN DIN

As an exotic dancer at Hott 22 in Union, Linda Kay's persona was that of a dark and ghoulish Goth girl.

In real life, police say, her interest in the macabre was more than just an act.

Officers responding to a report of a suicidal individual at Kay's South Plainfield home discovered a severed hand in a glass mason jar of formaldehyde and six skulls -- all human, according to the Middlesex County medical examiner.

Kay, 31, was arrested and charged with improper disposition of human remains. She has so far refused to tell police where or how she obtained the body parts.

The skulls, which authorities suspect were purchased online, were found in an upstairs bedroom, South Plainfield police Capt. Paul Brempt said. Linda's mother, Patricia Ann Kay, said her daughter purchased the skulls from a mail-order catalogue.

A man at the home yesterday, Jason Lafontaine, said Kay and Sean McDonough, who owned the house with Kay, got the hand from a friend who worked at a medical examiner's office.

"As a dancer, Linda had a lot of fans, and this med student who now lives in California gave her the hand," said Leipow, who said she left the home several months ago. The condition of the hand suggested it had been cut off crudely, not surgically, according to a police report, which also noted there were bone fragments in the jar.

So what's wrong with a little hand job for a tip?
