I fail to understand the reasoning behind writing an opus. Does it remove your name from membership? Why would that matter? Why not just not log in ever again? It would have the same effect but without the drama I suppose and without having people plead with you to stay while telling you how much you will be missed.
Never mind - I answered my own questions.

it has become plain to me that this position is NOT that of a majority of FReepers That strikes me as a rather unpersuasive reason for leaving. You have been well treated on FR, and in general, are well liked, because of your sense of humor, among other things. Make a statement if you wish. I'm disapponted, and I say that as one who takes minority, sometimes tiny minority, positions on FR, and am also well treated, and I think generally liked and respected.
That's my two cents.

Yeah, I kinda wonder that.
There have been times when it became kind of ugly around here before, and I took a break. But, I never bothered putting up a post saying I was going away, because, frankly, I doubt anyone would care or even notice if I didn't post.
