Ummm, the Passion of the Christ is nowhere even nominated, and, of course, the acaemy did manage to give out Globes to every leftist relic/icon in the crowd, to include Mick Jagger of all people.

It is beyond absurdity.

These awards do not reflect anything more than the popularity of these 'artists' among hte Hollywood/New York entertainment industry elite. And these Phillistines seem enamored with sticking it to Christians and advancing the latest pop-culture fad like mercy killings, hedonism, greed and power-mongering, etc.

I would be far more interested in the opinion of people knowledgable of the industry that share my values. The only Christian reviewers and award givers I have seen do not share my taste in movies that I can see.

Anyone want to find some Christian movie critics and promote them instead?

I could really care less what Hollywood tries to think anymore, they sicken me, and I would like to see some Christian reviews and awards instead.

Why would any one on this list care? These are just another show business salute to show business. There are thousands of semi-talented, mostly extreme leftist show folk who can afford to hire press agents who pretend to adore them and try to get us, with non-events like this, to agree. Just ignore these silly events and let the blue states worship marginally talented celebrities.

But why not set up our own 'Red State Awards' or the 'Jimmy Stewart Awards' (if his estate will agree to it) or something, anything.

There are an awful lot of good solid Christian/Jewish entertainers who have a traditional moral compass whose work is getting ignored.

Why just stand by and let it go on?

I have a feeling that it IS going on, but I cant find it.

True. When "Shakespeare in Love" won Best Picture over "Saving Private Ryan", I stopped wasting my time watching it.

Never mind all the other BS associated with it.

Sideways was good. The Avitor was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Where did you get all those Charlie Weaver quotes?

I was laughing so hard, my wife thought I was reading something I ought not to.

I thought The Aviator was very good, and think Leo was very deserving of his award. I haven't seen Million Dollar Baby yet, but I have to assume that Clint did an outstanding directing job on it as he always does.

Sideways looked pretty good as well but isn't playing around here.

Charlie Weaver

They are funny but they're just my picks of the funniest old Hollywood Squares comments, Weaver included. ;-)

*****

Q. If you're going to make a parachute jump, at least how high should you be?

A. Charley Weaver: Three days of steady drinking should do it.

**

Q. You've been having trouble going to sleep. Are you more likely a man or a woman?

A. Don Knotts: That's what's been keeping me awake.

**

Q. Which of your five senses tends to diminish as you get older?

A. Charley Weaver: My sense of decency.

**

Q. In Hawaiian, does it take more than three words to say "I Love You"?

A. Vincent Price: No, you can say it with a pineapple and a twenty.

**

Q. Charley, you've just decided to grow strawberries. Are you going to get any during the first year?

A. Of course not, I'm too busy growing strawberries.

**

Q. Can boys join the Camp Fire Girls?

A. Marty Allen: Only after lights out.

**

Q. If you were pregnant for two years, what would you give birth to?

A. Paul Lynde: Whatever it is, it would never be afraid of the dark.

**

Q. According to Ann Landers, is there anything wrong with getting into the habit of kissing a lot of people?

A. Charley Weaver: It got me out of the army.

**

Q. It is the most abused and neglected part of your body, what is it?

A. Paul Lynde: Mine may be abused but it certainly isn't neglected.

**

Q. Back in the old days, when Great Grandpa put horseradish on his head, what was he trying to do?

A. George Gobel: Get it in his mouth.

**

Q. Who stays pregnant for a longer period of time, your wife or an elephant?

A. Paul Lynde: Who told you about my elephant?

**

Q. When a couple have a baby, who is responsible for its sex?

A. Charley Weaver: I'll lend him the car, the rest is up to him.

******

Another gem:
Peter Marshall: True or false...a pea can last as long as 5,000 years.
George Gobel: Boy it sure seems that way sometimes...

That's funny, I was just thinking about how I couldn't really care less what YOU think, YOU sicken me, and I would like to see some reviews and awards shows from people who can tell a good movie from the hole in their backside (which it's obvious that you can't). Lighten up man. God didn't tell you you have to go through life as a fuddy-duddy, you know.

As for me, I quite enjoyed the Golden Globes. They "got it right" about half of the time, which is pretty good for an award show. I was pissed to see wonderful Eternal Sunshine get overlooked, but I am glad that Natalie Portman and Clive Owen get the supporting awards for their fiery work in Closer (their scene together at the strip club is white-knuckle tense, and probably won them the award). Jaime Fox also won for Ray, and that is good news.

Add to that some interesting speeches and odd fashions, and it was a pretty decent Globes show.

BTW: I know of a so-so Christian review site I've linked to a few times off of the IMDB (the best site for movie info on the net) called the Christian Spotlight on the Movies at Christiananswers.net but it probably wouldn't interest you since the reviewers usually seperate their ratings into "moral" and "artistic" qualities, and are shy to condemn a great movie that happens to have some raw content (even, *GASP*, sexual!).

That's funny, I was just thinking about how I couldn't really care less what YOU think, YOU sicken me,

I was posting to other Christians not wackos who get easily sickened by people not bowing to their pop idols like pagan cretins. You are obviously not a Christian that gives any wieght to their religous point of view, so blow off.

and I would like to see some reviews and awards shows from people who can tell a good movie from the hole in their backside (which it's obvious that you can't).

So you do like movies that promote acceptance of the leftist view of life? You like euthenasia? You like the promotion of homosexuality? Fine then watch that crap, but dont try to prevent me from finding and promoting an award show composed of those who do take a Christian view of the art and industry.

Lighten up man. God didn't tell you you have to go through life as a fuddy-duddy, you know.

Oh, I am 'lightened up' trust me.

And I really dont care what you try to think about whatever you call God, as it obviously isnt the same God that told King Saul to utterly destroy the Amelekites or the Same God that Jesus refered to that would have sent a legion of angels to protect Him had He not come to die.

As for me, I quite enjoyed the Golden Globes. They "got it right" about half of the time,

Great, maybe you enjoy pit dog fights and child porn too. Whats that to me?

These awards shows are filth and garbage.

Eat up.
