If you want to learn more about how the Mac came to be, and the people behind it, check this out: MacFolklore

I've been reading through it, and as a Mac user since 1984, I find it interesting how the interface came to be.

The DigiBarn Computer Museum and the Macmaps.com index of Apple Macintosh operating system related websites are very interesting sites for Mac users as well.

No. Nor did I have to pay for 10.3.1, 10.3.2, 10.3.3, or 10.3.4. What is that, Bush, 5? Yes, it is indeed FIVE, (5), Count'em FIVE, updates that did not cost a single cent.

In addition, there were probably another eight or so updates to various applications that come bundled with OSX... such as Mail, iPhoto, iMovie, Safari, etc., and, Gee, Bush, guess what!

They didn't cost anything either.

Yeah, the $129 upgrade every two years really makes want my PC back.

They weren't worth a damn, either.

Um, yes, I have. The experience was about as memorable as a good bowel movement.

This, from a guy who wouldn't know how to use Windows if his life depended on it.

Not exactly related (well it is Mac related). I spoke with the administrator of a new Mac site, macgenealogy.org. It's for Mac genealogists.

He seemed like a nice guy - I had asked on another site about current genealogy software, and he e-mailed me, and mentioned his site. It's pretty comprehensive and like FR, laid out with a simple style (I have this thing against sites that are flash or graphics intensive). He's kind of just letting word of it spread around and not formally advertising (maybe he's still working on the backend or getting a feel for bandwidth usage).
