Help Ron Maxwell (Gods and Generals/Gettysburg) to make/release a pro-American film by Nov.

Nothing has been finalized but Director Ron Maxwell (IMDB resume here) was in the middle of an interview with local host (sometimes national sub) Dan Patrick at KSEV 700AM.

Ron was going on about how much of a traitor (my word, not his) Michael Moore was for providing aid and comfort to the terrorists in Iraq. He also talked about how Mr. Moore made no reference to how many people Saddam Hussein was murdering every year. Nor did he mention the children who starved because of corruption in the Oil For Food program (which was pilfered by France and the United Nations by his account).

Host Dan asked him if there was any sort of film project in the works to challenge this and something seems to have at least advanced (if not had it's genesis).

Mr. Maxwell already has $250k of hard cash raised.

This weekend they will be looking into the legal steps needed to create a group of investors (they are not taking any money at this time).

I have nothing to report and don't even want to overload their communications at this time. Mr. Maxwell sees a budget of $4million (2 million to produce it/get it made, and 2 million to promote it).

This thread exists so I don't forget to look up what gets posted Monday.

In the meantime, you could send Dan Patrick an email giving him your support in his effort (not financial but promotional, prayers, and support in spirit).

Mr. Maxwell comes with good credentials and connections. Many FReepers have been asking for "some kind of film". This could be it.

FWIW, Mr. Maxwell said that his issue is not to label all people against the war in Iraq as traitors, but he knows we are in the right here and that there are many siding with evil.

May want to PING your list.

I will have to send more PINGs tomorrow or after the weekend.

The goal is to get this film made and released before the election. This means that they need to hit the ground running if it gets made.

Do you have an email address for him? I'd love to offer words of support and any assistance I can in terms of grass-roots promotion or whatever other services I could offer.

Mr. Maxwell said that his issue is not to label all people against the war in Iraq as traitors

90% of the people who are "opposed to the war in Iraq" are actually not opposed to any such thing, they are merely ill informed and reacting to the one sided propoganda that they are being force fed. They oppose evil and they have been told, over and over again, that the war in Iraq is evil. It's time to change the argument by TELLING THE TRUTH. Once given even a small dose of truth most people will come to the right conclusion on their own.

The left freaked out after 2000, and even more so after losing big in 2002 when they had convinced themselves they were going to win. They have been martialing their forces for this election for well over 2 years. They sent out their brown shirts to stir up their base and boy have they got the mob marching, torches and clubs in hand. Kristallnacht is their goal.

Michael Moore has thrown the first major rhetorical brick, though algore, wolfieblitzkrieg, danblather, and the rest of the MSM have been beating the drums for years. They hate. They want everyone else to hate as well.

There are a few folks who are willing to stand up to them and speak the truth. It appears that Mr. Maxwell is one such individual. If he gets started I think he'll find a lot of like minded people, even in his industry. Ironically I learned today about a new film in the same vein by the folks that produce South Park, though using satire, that is due to come out in October. Watch this space. Leftist Hollywierd may be in for its own little putsch and they don't have a clue that it's comming.

I would like to know what the difference is between Moore doing anti-war propaganda on film, and Kerry doing anti-war propaganda LIVE on the streets of the United States, and in (lying) testimony before the Senate.

Can someone tell me why Moore was wrong and Kerry was not?

I heard part of the interview earlier and I think Maxwell would do a great job getting the truth out on film.

And I'll definitely send Dan an e-mail of prayer and encouragement. Thanks for getting the word out!

John Kerry was a traitor. So was Jane Fonda (if only for her action of posing with Viet Cong on an anti-aircraft gun).

There was a desire to "put things in the past" after Vietnam. Draft dodgers were absolved.

John Kerry confessed to war crimes. Is there a statute of limitations on such activities? The continued trials of old Nazi guards would indicate "no".

John Kerry testified to these crimes before Congress. He has since come forward to say that those were the words of an angry young man (possibly given to exageration). Either he lied in a time of war in a manner designed to give aid and comfort to the enemy while demoralizing American troops or else he is an unindicted criminal (and possibly he is both).

Traitors are unable to serve as President. If Kerry wins, I push for the prosecution of John Kerry (even if it means being saddled with President Edwards).

We prosecuted people for treason after WWII and got some convictions. I'm sure that there could have been more.

Far Fetched Hype: Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 911
July 24, 2004, 09:20 AM
By Mona Lugay

Ron Maxwell is a major Hollywood director/writer and producer. He is one of the few outspoken conservatives in Hollywood. His most recent credits include the two Civil war epics, Gettysburg and Gods and Generals.

We live in an age of dubbing down and hyping up - an age of mush media and mass hysteria. There have been other such times, when civilization declines, when barbarism creeps to ascendancy. Only in such times can charlatans pose as sages, can deceivers pose as deliverers. “Deliver us from evil” goes the prayer. “Deliver us from George Bush” goes the slogan.

So it is, that the deranged teenager of 17th Century Salem becomes the 21st Century's enfant terrible, pointing the accusatory finger at the witch - the witch who must be burned. The screaming adolescent girls have morphed into the cacophonic voices of film critics and columnists, of ranting heads and party hacks. The whole self-righteous chorus baying for blood! The lunatic crowd wanted only its ring master, someone to smartly crack the whip so that they could obediently jump through the fiery box-office ring. This clown, this fop, this slovenly base echo of once more dignified circus tramps has taken his ramshackle carnival wagon on the road. From it he pulls his bag of tricks, his carpet bag of elixirs, his cure-alls and snake oils, his salves and lotions and perfumes. He tosses a little incense here, sprinkles a little fairy dust there, sprays a noxious stream of toxins over all and into this celluloid broth he ladles the poisons of innuendo, of false juxtaposition, of rumor, of conspiracy theory, of outrage tinged lies.

The impresario is none other than Michael Moore, who dazzles the credulous and the ignorant, who inspires the fawning partisans and emboldens the timorous hyena horde.

This modern day Pied-Piper is leading thousands of our children into the abyss of self-loathing, self-doubt and nihilism. His shrill pipes plead the cause of moral equivalency and confusion. In his cinematic song the world is indeed turned upside down - the heroes are the villains, our enemies are merely misunderstood and we have nothing to fear but our own corrupt society. Indeed, Michael Moore's mantra is identical to Osama Bin Laden's and the Ayatollahs of Iran - “America is the great Satan.”
