I suppose you want the checks to keep coming, too.

Now more than ever. Somebody has to make up for lost rentals. :>)

Thanks for your thoughts. Other than a few missing roof tiles, my place was untouched. Others nearby were not so fortunate. I walked the beach today and noticed several badly damaged roofs, carpets being ripped out due to flooding, and the presence of insulation and sprinkler system pieces everywhere.

The dunes were badly damaged and most of the stairs that go down to the beach are gone. But power was already restored when I arrived back yesterday, a blessing in itself.

Glad to know that Darlin' and Letitring are safe.

Sounds like God has been looking after you through these brutal storms, catpuppy. I'm so glad.

We never did get any rain. I thought surely we would what with all those hurricanes dancing around, but no such luck. We could use it too. My yard is really dry. This stinks not being allowed to water. Oh, I can hand water, but with a yard this size and with no more water pressure than we have, it would take all day.

Oh I am so glad you decided to go to the fair, after all. GREAT pics, too. I had trouble with mine being too dark as it was too shady under the tents. Besides that, I have no talent. LOL

I went back to the fairgrounds this morning to do some metal detecting. It is a perfect place to find money and jewelry, especially on the ground where the rides were that took people upside down. But, my durn back gave out on me after about thirty minutes and I had to come home. I only found one quarter and some kind of necklace.

PS...I did see the Confederate flag in one of your pics. I used to see them flying and for sale at the fair, but not in recent years. I think our gestapo fair board sneakily banned them. LOL

"I went back to the fairgrounds this morning to do some metal detecting"

Funny you should mention that. The sign going into our fair said "no metal detectors allowed." Of course, that was probably during the fair itself.

The booth with the Confederate flag is the Dixie Outfitters, so naturally they're going to have the flag. But you do see it flying in quite a few places around here. I almost bought me a new t-shirt there, but I couldn't make up my mind so I didn't. LOL!

Next weekend there's a gun show at the fairgrounds. I might go do some sightseeing....if you know what I mean.

Hey there, catpuppy. I'm thrilled to learn that you fared so well and that you actually have electricity. :) That is wonderful news. I haven't checked the weather for your area today but its a glorious day over this way, :) warm but low humidity. Beautiful blue sky with just a few high and puffy white clouds. It was so pleasant and cool this morning I had breakfast out on the patio.

Welcome newbies :) FR is as great place but if you're like most of us you lurked for a while before you joined up so you probably already know that. Now, don't be shy, jump right in and make yourself at home :)
