And a big shout-out for all the Aussie's who have and are serving to preserve freedom and liberty around the world.

"Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."

Did you know that Sir Edmund Hillary is whom hillary is supposed to be named for..

I learn alot from Our Daily Bread, it not only helps our Spirit and Faith,
it's an education in more ways than one..

I'm from Wisconsin, but have lived in Virginia. I think I must have been in weak tree toad terrain, though. Can't say that I've been able to enjoy their serenade.

>> "Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."

That might well be my very very very favorite verse in the whole Bible.

Actually that's another of the Rodham-Clinton LIES... Hillary Clinton was born in 1947 or thereabouts, a good six years or so before Sir Edmund conquered Everest.

And he wasn't a Brit, either (as is often claimed)... he was (and still is) a New Zealander.

Hi there.

I'd post something intelligent and witty, but I didn't get any sleep last night (long story) and it's the middle of Monday afternoon here...

If I go missing, fear not - I've probably just succumbed to a fit of national fervour and gone to try and enlist in the RAAF or something... 8-)

So Many Crosses

I saw so many crosses there, my eyes began to swim,
Among all the fallen heroes, how could I find just him?
But then I found I had a guide, and this One said, “Fear not,
For I know all the servicemen who rest within this plot.”

My guide showed me the way to find my fallen brother,
And said that in my family I would certainly find another.
And on and on He led me there, to pass by every stone,
To show me of the fallen ones, which ones had been my own.

“I did not know so many had been taken of my clan.”
“Not all have died in battle, but each one has been a man.
A man to stand against the tide, and sweep it back to cower,
And that is why I hold them here, in this My sacred bower.”

I looked in wonder ‘round me in this forest of the brave,
Where each stubby sapling was the marker of a grave.
I said, “Why have you gathered these? What is the plan you made?”
He said with sadness, “Many others ran away. These are the ones who stayed.”

“They stayed when others ran in fear. They went toward the harm.
Though many knew no more of war than being on a farm.
They were steadfast in battle, and were conquerors of fear,
I have plans to grow some more of them. This is a garden here.”

“The seeds of their great courage, will rest within your souls,
And when the need arises, you will find you have controls,
Over the blinding terror, over the numbing fear,
Perhaps one day it will be you who journeys here.”

I was no longer trembling. I did no longer weep.
I no longer was a stranger in that strange and silent keep.
It was a ward of brothers, a loving family somehow,
And then I knew that I would be just like my brother now.

Memorial Day

As you go through the holiday,
With friend and family.
Enjoy yourself and have some fun,
But please help others see.
The reason we can live this life,
Of freedom in this land.
Is due to those who sacrifice,
Yes those who raised their hand.
The nation called they answered then,
They answer still today.
So take a moment, say a prayer,
Remember them some way.
They do not go to die for us,
But know, that die, they might.
But that is no deterrent still,
To keep them from the fight.
Please put your faith in God above,
All Blessings come from Him.
God Bless them all, both young an old,
Bless those who wait for them.
We won’t forget the ones who died,
Or they who serve us still.
We owe them all, for all we have,
Remember them, I will!

It was a day,
like any other day,
the last week of May,
the weather would be gay,
light-hearted every way.

That year, Flanders Field
bore a silent yield,
a harvest you shield,
your eyes tears wield.

One day we chose,
to honor their repose,
the book we won't close,
and the legend rose.

We remember The Great War,
and then there was one more,
to stop the flow of gore,
the world so full sore,
but who knew what was in store?

So now, to them we say,
to those who the debt shall pay,
we honor you in this way,
upon this Memorial Day.

Faded Flags

There are a lot of faded flags. They’ve grown a tattered gray,
That were so bright and vibrant when we hung them on that day.
The fresh pain now has faded, and control is grimly kept.
The hurt that washed into our soul made furrows as we wept.

Faded too is memory, perhaps a blessed thing,
Except we get reminders of the terror that they bring.
They think they can deflect us. They hope they can prevail.
I have a bit of news for them, WE ARE NOT GOING TO FAIL.

We showed our children Peace and Love, they turned a little green,
And found compelling entertainment in a video machine.
We watched in horror as they chortled at the gore,
We hardly knew that they were hardening for War.

Our enemies underestimate the ease with which we cringe,
For they haven’t seen our kids go on a video killing binge.
They are prepared for battle, all we need to say is go,
“Game over”’s when they’ll note the scores belonging to the foe.

We didn’t want them trained this way, but since it’s come about,
I think we ought to let the kids just let their feelings out.
They’ll vent a lot of anger, and we’ll cheer them from the side,
And they’ll sweep away the flaming horde just like a rising tide.

And faded colors of the flag will gain a brighter gleam,
As the new recruits are added to the old part of the team.
Some may return with wounds and mental hurt that keep them blue,
While others will be stellar in the things they have to do.

The purest of their valor will be shown within the fight,
And white will represent them in the dawn’s approaching light.
And yes, we will have casualties. Many smiles will end up dead.
And we’ll sew the bravest color in their shroud in brightest red.

The Patriot

His brother died that day in Pearl,
The sneak attack took place.
He lost a cousin on D-Day,
He still can see his face.
The fight was tough and many died,
But freedom they would save.
He fought the Nazis gallantly,
He was more scared than brave.
But he and other’s pressed the fight,
And soon prevail they did.
He came back home to tickertape,
Back home to wife and kid.
He raised his family, they raised theirs,
Now all have moved away.
His wife passed several years ago.
He misses her each day.
What’s happened to the land he loves,
The one he fought hard for.
He can’t go out for walks at night,
He has to lock his door.
He stays at home and reads a bit,
At least his dog still cares.
The young folks drive by in their cars,
Their music loud, their stares.
He flies Old Glory everyday,
He takes her in at night.
He sometimes wishes that he knew,
Just what could make it right.
I’ll tell you now we owe this man,
Much more than we can pay.
Let’s take our country back for him,
We need to start today.
Right now our troops are overseas,
Like he was long ago.
When they come home, home must be here,
The home we used to know.
Turn off the TV, get outside,
Go shake your neighbors hand.
Vote out the leftist liberals,
Get loud and take a stand.
America, is ours to save,
From outside and within.
Let’s keep her strong and keep her great,
So home she’ll be again.
