Antisemitism as Official Policy. The Department of Education’s investigation of campus hate will go nowhere.

American Jews are in a strange predicament. On the one hand, following Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel, radical-left partisans learned that antisemitism is an increasingly important and effective part of their racialist ideology. On the other hand, holdovers from the Left’s tolerant but distant past are not prepared to abandon the party that has abandoned them. They still feel the need to distract the public from the inroads made by antisemitism deep within the Democratic party. They do this by pointing to the so-called epidemic of white supremacy on the right—an epidemic that is more imagined than real.

This is ironic since antisemitism is attractive to the radical Left precisely because it sees Jews as white. Growing hatred of whites by BIPOC leftists and self-loathing by white leftists form, by now, about the only shared political principle around which the Left can congregate. The only debate among the Left is whether Jews are “white.” In other words, the Left can’t decide whether to embrace antisemitism as a specific form of its now-habitual anti-whiteness or to use antisemitism to cudgel its opponents for their putative white supremacy. It can’t decide whether to reject the Jews because they are white or to embrace them because they aren’t.

This is not merely an abstract ideological tension. It is currently playing out in all sorts of real-world circumstances, from Hollywood to city council meetings, from workplaces to professional sports, and of course from secondary schools to the nation’s universities.

In general, this is a battle to define the central principles of modern liberalism. More specifically, it is a battle for control of the Democratic party. In either case, the fundamental question is whether the Left will be able (or even seriously attempt) to restore universal tolerance as its defining ethos.

Leftism has always permitted, sometimes encouraged antisemitism.

Jewish intellectuals were many of the prime movers in the creatiom of the repugnant anti-white ideology that holds the left together.

For instance one of the reported incidents consists of a professor saying "Jews are a cancer" at UNC.

But the Jewish writer Susan Sontag famously wrote "The white race is the cancer of human history".

No one condemned her for this. She was showered with awards from the Cathedral. A MacArthur Genius Award, the National Book Award and the Jerusalem Prize, along with various honorary degrees.

It is asking a lot of whites to be outraged over Jews being treated poorly by these elites, being treated like whites.

"Hey, guys, we've been dealing with this crap for 30 years now and many of you lot have been our tormenters! Welcome to Club Cracker!

College-bound Jew boys and Jew girls: Forget this sh!t. Go to yeshiva. If you’re going to be persecuted for being Jewish, you might as well learn something about your roots. Who knows. You might like it.

Matisyahu Gelman was a secularized, assimilated Austrian school boy. One day, one of his classmates called him a “dirty Jew” and spat on him. After the fist fight, he left the school, met a Jewish holy man in the Jude gas of Vienna, poured his heart out to him, and became a fervent follower of the Gur Rebbe, leading a group of youths who resisted all of the Nazi decrees when they came. They refused to register for work detail, refused to wear the yellow stars, refused to show up voluntarily for deportation to concentration camps, and led rebellions when they ended up there. When some of them were finally gathered in a courtyard and machine gunned, they danced as the bullets went through them, rejoicing in their martyrdom.

Read about it in Those Who Never Yielded, by Moshe Prager.

You, too, can dance when they machine gun you, instead of sitting around complacently accepting all the sh!t they throw at you in a big university, and then dying with a surprised look on your face. Or you might even discover the wonderful heritage of which you are right now being kept ignorant, and find a new, more meaningful life immersed in your tradition.

From the institution of compulsory education (locally governed) in the 19th century onward, literacy has continually improved across all demographics. It kind of slowed down after WWII, but still always increasing while approaching 100%.

Until 1979, when the current federal Department of Education was instituted.

Since then all downhill, and yes minorities most affected.

If the pro-Hamas types want to undermine the education of Jewish students in America, it is unclear how that can be stopped. Certainly there has been NO loud and consistent condemnation from American education and government leaders on this vital issue.

However my point is that this is no longer the 1930’s where the only game in town is North America and Europe. There are high quality international level Universities outside the West where students can do their studies or work on their doctorates. There are the Indian Institute of Tecnologies (IITs) in India, the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil, some in China and elsewhere that are top tier.

The longer term point is that Jewish scholarship in the West has lead to 129 Nobel Prizes, plus technological leadership in many fields. Ill treatment by Western countries does not have to be tolerated. Sending excellent Jewish scholars to the developing world can accelerate the shift in technological power to nations and peoples who might be more appreciative. And maybe the trickle can turn into something larger where these countries will be safer places for communities that should avoid a West that is about to self destruct.
