Amid all the praises by Democrats for Joe Lieberman who just passed away, we should remember that liberals actually HATED him. Why? Among several reasons is that many liberals blamed Lieberman for causing Al Gore to lose the 2000 election as you can see in these scenes from the film "Recount" about the 2000 Florida recount which ultimately ALL subsequent recounts still showed Gore losing. Oh, and notice how Democrats back then insisted on verifying the validity of mail-in ballot? They also insisted on the use of paper over electronic ballots in the wake of that election. My how times have changed!
p.s. And 20 years ago, questioning election results as "Recount" did was NOT considered a criminal activity.

Um... I was a very close observer of DUmmieland for years (DUmmie FUnnies channel got its name from the DUmmies) and I can tell you they HATED Lieberman. Perhaps I could go into their archives to prove my case.

Okay, today’s woke left hates him. But mainstream liberals didn’t hate him in the 1990s and 2000s.
Ron Klain (as portrayed by Kevin Spacey in “Recount”) certainly appeared to HATE Lieberman. And I would consider Klain as a mainstream liberal.
Joe really trashed Schumer recently regarding his trashing of Israel, funny that interview never was seen much on TV.
The “No Labels” Party has an opportunity here.
They can run Joe as their presidential candidate.
He can lobby for Democratic votes in the cemetery.

Also you are conflating two very different eras. Yeah, in the 1990s liberals liked Lieberman but after the 2000 election they blamed LIEBERMAN in a big way for the loss. And in the 2000s mainstream liberals made their final evolution to WOKE (and loony).

Lieberman was an old-school democrat that left when the his party moved hard-left. He was shown the door and ran successfully for his seat as an Independent. THAT incensed the DNC and he became a pariah to the Democrat party. There was plenty of hate.
BTW, I just checked the Twitter feed of Ron Klain and NO condolences for Joe Lieberman. Kevin Spacey portrayed Klain in “Recount.”

He did go from VP candidate to be primaried in fairly short order, as I recall.
He was primaried, but then won re-election as an independent.
