LET'S TALK ABOUT DESANTIS STATEMENT THAT BIDEN WON THE ELECTION:
THE PREMISE:
DeSantis set the premise by saying this:
"Whoever puts their hand on the Bible on Jan. 20 every four years is the winner," DeSantis told NBC News correspondent Dasha Burns.
So, in essence DeSantis is saying that according to our form of government, whoever is certified by Congress as the winner and takes the oath of office is the winner. This is simply a matter of fact. Biden was certified and took the oath, Biden was the winner.
DESANTIS BLAMES TRUMP:
However, DeSantis then went on to say this was a flawed election and that much of the blame lay at Trump's feet for passing the CARES Act, putting Fauci in charge and flooding the nation with mail-in ballots.
Still, DeSantis made sure to point out in Sunday's interview that he saw a number of problems with the 2020 election, including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s grants for election administration, the widespread availability of mail-in ballots, state laws that allow third parties to collect and return voters' ballots, and how social media outlets de-emphasized a story about the laptop of President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden.
"I think what people in the media and elsewhere, they want to act like somehow this was just like the perfect election. ... I don’t think it was a good-run election," DeSantis said. "But I also think Republicans didn’t fight back. You’ve got to fight back when that is happening."
"But here’s the issue that I think is important for Republican voters to think about: Why did we have all those mail votes? Because of Trump turned the government over to Fauci," DeSantis said, referring to Dr. Anthony Fauci, a leader of the White House Coronavirus Task Force. "They embraced lockdowns. They did the CARES Act, which funded mail-in ballots across the country."
CONCLUSION:
At no time did DeSantis say Trump was NOT cheated or that this was a perfect election. He put the blame for the imperfect election at Trump's feet.
Ted’s been a piece of work, he just showed his true colors in 2016, and doesn’t try to hide it as much anymore.
Ted’s establishment as much as Mitch is.
Florida enacted strong measures agaisnt voter fraud. What did Trump do to stop it?
WoW. Someone who knows what happened. Congratulations. I truly wish more on FR actually could put into words and ideas something so succinct and correct!
Changing the voting laws in the midst of the most chaotic year in 50+ years just might lead to an unexpected outcome. Trump had only about 2 weeks post election day to get some traction on an appeal(s). He didn’t do it. And, he didn’t spend the money to do it either. The cards, without politics or judges entering the picture, were stacked against him.
I’m really getting sick of the hubris all around us. I don’t need someone to interpret for me what DeSantis said.
Donald Trump and the seven dwarves.
Trump was never a governor, so you tell me what mechanics he could have used, as president, to enact what DeSantis did in Florida.
I noticed someone explained to you up above that States control elections, not the Federal government.
I guess you hadn't had time to read that previous comment yet?
I have heard and read exactly what DeSantis said in his answer to a question about the election.
The, “media and Trump operation,” are not lying. DeSantis was quoted, WORD BY WORD!
How many in our group heard his words?
I recall very well when Trump asserted that Cruz’s father was complicit in the JFK assassination, and then insulted the appearance of Cruz’s wife Heidi. To his credit, Cruz moved on and eventually supported the team, but I’m sure he remains mindful of just how low Trump can go.
yes, so get rid of permanently... false maga apostle DeJudas, I mean Desantis
DeSantis is as finished as Mike Pence is.

You mean Trump is exposing him as a liar and puppet of the GOP donors and establishment? That's IS what he's doing. DeSantis is finished and, like Cruz, for good as far as Presidential aspirations.
Florida (a State) enacted strong measures agaisnt voter fraud.
What did Trump do to stop it? I guess you don't see the conflict in your statement vs your question.
When he gets around to running for and gets elected Governor of some random State and fails to get that States legislature to protect the voting mechanism in that State, then we can ask him.
These are the rules, as flimsy as they are at times, not some imaginary power POTUS refused to exercise. It's appalling that so many here have no clue as to how our various .govs operate.
Trump played nice with Cruz until they were the only two left standing. Trump still tried to play nice for awhile, but he pretty much came out and said that if Cruz didn't drop out, he was going to take the gloves off.
And he did. I didn't expect him to go as low as he did, but I did expect him to do whatever it took to take Cruz out.
I was a Cruz supporter before Trump won the nomination. Cruz had been doing conservative things for a long time, and I perceived Trump as a New York Liberal masquerading as a Republican.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover I was incorrect in my assessment of Trump's ideological leanings.
I wasn't aware that CARES made elections a federal prerogative. I thought it was mainly just a big blowout of money we didn't have.
Originally, I thought Trump was the 2nd coming of Nelson Rockefeller tolerable only because the alternative was Hellary. I too was very pleasantly surprised!

But hasn’t DJT said he’s going to clean up elections when he’s back in office?
