Was told to keep 'added sugars' below 40 daily. Some sauces and dressings are loaded.

Some sauces and dressings are loaded.

You are so right. I was reminded of this video this morning when I cleaned the kitchen counter and saw a jar of vinegarette that I had made. How to Make Vinaigrette Salad Dressing: Jacques Pépin Techniques | KQED. The first thing Pépin talks about is the amount of sugar in salad dressings. It’s a short video and worth a view.

Watch the video. But here’s a hint: there isn’t a diet. Named diets are for fools.

Does this mean I have to give up my Little Debbies and get off the couch? It’s hot outside. I might break a sweat if I walk. This sounds hard.

That label shows 37 carbs which is right at the 40 carbs that many recommend for the entire day. Where the blazes did all those carbs, aka sugar, come from? Not added but in the food already.

Don’t buy prepacked full of junk sauces and dressings. Make your own. Those lite salad dressings are still full of calories. I cut the oil called for in the recipes to just a scant and replace it with water so less than 15 calories per serving. Could probably cut out all oil especially since most all olive oil is fake anyway.

Diets are jokes. Cut the calories used in a day and the weight will come off.

Yep. One takeaway from the video is someone going from no exercise in a week to three hours exercise a week can experience huge benefits. And the exercise can be spread out over the week.

That could backfire.

Depends on your definition of “used.”

My posting was facetious. I’ve been modifying my diet and having to increase my exercise routine because of low HDL cholesterol. I’m active throughout the day and was very disappointed in my low reading. So I’m having to redouble my efforts to lower my carb intake.
