I Truly Miss Our Tobacco Smoking Culture

I Truly Miss Our Tobacco Smoking Culture .

The paraphernalia. The rituals. The camaraderie. The cigarettes and cigars and pipes.

The rituals. The coffee and cigarettes. The pipe and brandy. The smoky jazz clubs. .

It was an age. In retrospect it added texture to our lives.

Not me. Smoking is one of the vilest, nastiest, most destructive, expensive habits a human can have. Smokers should be firehosed out of existence.

Yeah, I can see how cancer adds “texture” to people’s lungs.

I do know a lot of work was done in the smoke pit regardless of what non smokers thought. Discussions on getting projects done were routine from smokers of different departments.

I always thought the health issues were exaggerated.

I don’t miss caring for patients dying a slow, miserable death from lung cancer.

I enjoyed my pipe after a meal and while fishing, and bumming cigarettes at the bar stool, but my health has greatly improved since I quit.

I think alcohol is. Nasty smelly drunks. Expensive. Costs of rehab for these weak people is astronomical. People who drink alcohol are nasty and worthless to our country.

Nothing like kissing a girl who smelled of cigarettes and whiskey at 2 AM.

The same people who demonize tobacco use are now the cheerleaders for marijuana.

It is always interesting to watch old TV shows from the 70s where the host and contestants are smoking pipes or cigarettes on air. Definitely a casualty of progress.

I’m not abig fan of smoking but least people weren’t obese back then. I really never got anything out of cigarettes when I smoked them, though it does feel cool

I smoked for thirty years before my vape got me to quit. Thankfully, the smell of burning tobacco still makes me smile.
Like a fragrant incense from the past.
I didn’t turn into a tobaccophobic psycho whenever someone lit up near me.

People get lung cancer without ever having smoked.

Add smoking on planes, in restaurants, and in work offices (including Physicians!). Nobody thought much about it.

Agreed. Nasty, disgusting habit. I especially get riled up when someone feels that it’s their right, or okay, to throw a cigarette butt on the ground.

I have no issue with smoking or smokers as long as it is not in a public area and whether it’s tobacco or marijuana.

The Health care professionals should convey known health facts and let people decide.
