Beautiful Emma La Chanteuse And The Armed Rebellion Which Mark Twain Called "The Finest Thing In Australasian History."

In December 1854, gold miners or diggers (which later became a word to describe all Australia's fighting defence force personnel) took up arms and rebelled by building and defending the Eureka Stockade in their campaign against excessive taxation and undemocratic government.

There were a fair few people from California among them. Wikipedia reports that: "a contingent of 200 Americans under James McGill arrived at 4 pm in the afternoon" of December the second, but most left before the Battle the early the next day, the Sabbath, a time which the British colonial forces used for their advance in part because many of the rebels did not believe their enemies would desecrate the Day Of Rest.

Mark Twain described the rebellion like this: "It was a revolution - small in size; but great politically; it was a strike for liberty, a struggle for a principle, a stand against injustice and oppression."

This small battle with a death toll of around thirty or more is the closest thing to a national revolution Australia had ever had until PC leftist forces started to infiltrate and often take over government, the police, churches, the courts and schools and universities in recent decades.

We libertarians are very badly outnumbered and easily silenced and even imprisoned and bashed with impunity by police in modern Australia.

A beautiful, young, regular protestor like Emma La Chanteuse gives us hope.

Please pray for us.

God Bless Freedom.

Ironically, hardcases from Britain’s Australia penal colony showed up in California shortly after news of the Gold Rush spread worldwide after 1849. Many Aussies turned around and headed to Australia given the fact that the Gold Rush had about run its course and a new gold strike was declared in Australia. The Aussies who stayed behind in the San Francisco Bay Area were given the name ‘Syndney Ducks,’ and they formed the first ethnic gang in California. When threatened by the Vigiliance Committee formed to reduce crime in San Francisco, many Ducks took off for Mexico and took up living there (ancestor of Anthony Quinn for one).

The one hour rebellion in Australia is still celebrated as is the Métis rebellion led by Louis Riel in Canada.

Yet the four year rebellion in the US, 1861-1864 is not deemed not worthy of even mentioning as flags and statues are constantly removed or destroyed.

***‘Syndney Ducks,’ and they formed the first ethnic gang in California.***

“Ducks” and the “Hounds!” What a group of gangs!
