Yep lots of Snowbird retirees from Chicago and the States of IL, WI, MI,MN,IN,IA in HSV, know them all too well, live about 15 miles from HSV, Common saying is “That is not how we did it in Chicago or where they are from”. I tell them well you are in Arkansas now and this is how we do it..
We looked into buying a house there, but a) the market was overheated; and b) everything is GOLF GOLF GOLF, supported by high POA fees, and we don’t golf.

Most of those I’ve met who test HSV positive are either Karens or Dicks. If you live there, MF, then you are one of the exceptions and have my sympathy.
If you’re looking for a decent place to relocate to, give a good look at Inverness, FL. The housing market is overheated there, but otherwise it’s almost like Heaven on Earth (IMHO).
As for that sign, it is a mile or so OUTSIDE the Village on Highway 7. It is not connected to the Village and most people here think it’s a prank. All I can tell you is everyone laughs at it as they drive by.
And you can’t live on Lake Ouachita. You can live near it, but not on it.

If you know of a more politically conservative place of 16,000 residents than Hot Springs Village, please inform me. There are many Republican events, fundraisers, meetings, etc here, but the Democrat party is virtually nonexistent. It’s a wonderful breath of fresh air. As I said in Post 18, I’m sure there are some Democrats here, but they must all keep mum. I’ve never heard anyone spouting Dem nonsense here. And we like it that way.
