I understand Will Smith smacked Chris Rock live onstage at the Oscars last night because Rock made a joke about Smith’s wife’s (Jada Pinket-Smith) hair.
I guess without President Donald Trump to curse at and kick around it was inevitable that they turn on each other.
Maybe we should just cancel the Academy Awards until we elect someone they all hate again.

You can hear the impact if you play the tape. People are saying they staged a violent response for ratings...Okey dokey.
I guess that rules out "nappy-headed," too, doesn't it?
Dang! I'm having to cross out more and more words in my thesaurus every day!
Regards,
Post of the day! Lol!
I’m trying to imagine how Clarke Gable would’v handled it if Bob Hope had made a joke about Carole Lombard. Probably differently.
Your niece’s story is inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
It looked staged. The camera conveniently panned Smith and his wife just as the comment was made. And, like you said, there was no attempt at intervention by any staff or security.
Sounds like your niece was beautiful inside and out. Sorry for your loss.
Your suggestion on the way Will Smith could’ve responded was perfect.
A long time ago, chemo took my hair for a year. Luckily, I had a sense of humor about the baldness. My hair grew back as full as ever. But, first it sprouted on the sides with baldness on top. I showed my brother and we laughed and laughed.
Will Smith’s wife isn’t bald. She’s said her hair is thinning, so she had it shaved down very short. I saw a clip of her crying about her hair. Quite frankly, I thought she was overreacting. I guess her husband overreacts to things, too.
Odd that he laughed first and then got angry. His wife must’ve kicked him in the shin for laughing.
What gets me is that black women wear all sorts of fake hair. Smith’s wife who is a celebrity in her own right, wore a gown and came to the Oscars sporting a bald head. Others have done it before. There are lots of black women who have been bald or extremely short haired on purpose. Chris Rock did her a favor by mentioning her. If she wanted to hide her hair she could have done what many of the bald celebrities do, wear a wig.
Obviously Smith does not like his wife’s hair. He is embarrassed by it. And he is mad that someone said anything. He is a hot head. He was not protecting his women. He is embarrassed by his women, and he is protecting his ego.
In the future comedians need to watch out. I expect lessor comedians all over the country will get hurt from audience members who become offended. And now they will think its ok to attack the guy on stage. They should blame Will Smith for any injuries they get.
Totally staged.

Totally, without question!
Good for you, as it has been said, laughter is the best medicine……I guess. Only special people are able to find humor in tough times, and you are one of them! Another little nugget from my niece. All of us family women went out to eat one night, Kim had just a few months to live. So she had a glass of wine and I was nervous about her drinking with the meds she was on. Then she got another glass, I said, “No more wine! It might make you sick”. She looked around the table with a silly look, pointed to her head and said, “duh”.
I’m all in favor of Hollywood celebs violently attacking each other at awards shows. While typically there would be male-female fighting divisions, they should now include trans in the female division, to prove they aren’t hypocrites.
The trans would have a big grudge against actresses for taking roles that *could* have gone to trans.
Yep, make it like The Squid Game.
Where does the William’s Family go to get this moment back.
If anyone insulted his wife it was Smith himself.
She has hair loss, so what? She’s still an attractive woman.
It appears that Smith thinks her looks are unattractive
and is ashamed of her looks.
He owes her an apology and one to Chris Rock as well.
If anyone believes this was real they believe wrestling is real.
Welcome to African America.
Love it! That is great! What a wonderful person to have in your life. :-)
Cancer has taken many of my relatives and a few friends, some at a young age. Like your niece, they found joy wherever possible. Of course, they also felt sadness, but they appreciated every moment in life.
