That shows the format of the code without it turning into an actual link.

Not true AT ALL. I got arrested for resisting arrest when I was trying to report 3 violent felonies against me. Apparently the folks who committed those violent felonies had some kind of sway with the police.
Next up is whether or not I sue the city of San Jose for millions of dollars in wrongful prosecution and arrest. It all depends on how the Office of Public Integrity handles it. I have video of the event.

Could you use a % for the width? I know I used to be able to do that in CSS. But that was long ago….
A % sizes the image for your screen.

Nah. I see this as a typo. Typos are different from syntax and complete butcher jobs. We are not without empathy.

There is a simple way. Got to
THIS SITE. If you want to post a link, paste it in the space for "url" (while overwriting what is already there). It will produce the HTML link that you copy and paste into FR. I inserted the above link via that site.
If you want to post a picture, you use the HTML Image Generator line. However, you need a place to host images. Many of the images found online do not permit hotlinking of their images, so you have to download it and host it yourself. I host my images at PostImage.
And instead of starting these useless threads, you should try these out on an existing thread you want to reply to. You can test out the links/images and then click preview to see if they work, and click on the links to see if they work.

A shortcut if you are browsing using MS Edge and you find a picture that you want to post. Just right click on the picture. Then left click “inspect” in the menu that comes up. Then use “cntr c” to copy the highlighted text that appears...
Then use “cntr v” to paste the text in the posting box on Free Republic. Sometimes you have to edit the text to get it to work right, but much of the time you don't have to do anything.
