china supersonic missile

Anyone remember the old Rush Limbaugh parody bit from the way-back machine that featured the whiney line “…but the Belgians and the French are laughing at us!” As I recall the premise was mocking the kinder-gentler path our military seemed headed down at the time and was implying that even the cheese-eating surrender monkeys and the chocolatiers were making fun of us.

Well fast forward about 15 years along that path and see, yet again, just how right Rush was:

china supersonic missile.launch pg

…now the Chinese are mocking us. And for good reason. They’ve launched a hypersonic missile with nuclear capabilities that can reach speeds of up to 21,000 mph and strike anywhere on Earth from space within minutes. hypersonic

The system would be able to overcome US anti-ballistic missile defense systems: that’s pretty impressive.

See what you can do when your resources are focused on offense/defense rather than a Green New Deal - which, I point out gratuitously, is quite useless in the face of nuclear annihilation. And if your military is more interested in the traditional role of killing people and breaking things than it is in CRT, gender roles and intersectionality?

According to the Financial Times:

The incident caught the US intelligence community by surprise, sources say, as it shows 'China has made astonishing progress on the development of its hypersonic weapons'.

One person familiar with the test said: 'We have no idea how they did this.'

Ha ha ha! That’s a good one, how, indeed?

“It is inevitable that China will take an upper hand over the US.”

Tell me again, what part of MAGA did you object to?

The reason we don’t have FOBS isn’t that we can’t develop one. DoD considered it in the ‘60s, and determined that it did not provide a significant advantage over regular ICBMs. Then, in 1979, we and the Soviets agreed not to deploy them in SALT II.

OK..
I’ll play..

There are only 2 things that I would like to have seen thought out better..

1) The trade war did not have to be quite so broad.
2) The economy was set up to bring it in for a soft landing. Now we are going to get the crash landing instead.

President Trump has my full and complete support.

We don't have "supply chain" problems. That is Free Traitor™ propaganda to couch the obvious symptom of foolish, greedy, myopic industrial policy.

What we really have is an "off shoring" of industry problem.

Right Bert?

The biggest problem with Trump was his failure to pick good subordinates. Everyone was the greatest in the world until they weren't.

Well, you asked....

You are incorrect..
What we have is a longshoremen work slow down problem..
In other words, a union problem...

Re: "Trump didn't have much to choose from."

That must be why 50% of Trump's appointments originally worked for or were promoted by Obama.

Also, none of Trump's personal selections could get confirmed by Congress, so Trump had no choice but to appoint Conservative-hating neo-Marxists, and hope for the best.

We don't have "supply chain" problems.

Didn't Biden - incredibly - clarify just yesterday that it's not a "supply" problem, but rather a "demand" problem?

Reminds me of the old Eastern Bloc joke: A man goes into a dept. store and asks for a pair of boots. The clerk answers: "Wrong counter. Here, we don't have any kitchen appliances. Upstairs, you'll find 'we don't have any boots.'"

Regards,

Trump didn’t have much to choose from.

Well, there's something like 250 million Americans of voting age, so if he can't find the right people somewhere in there, than I think that's on him.

This is really the biggest concern I'd have with him in 2024. He had a tough enough time finding people in 2016. I can't imagine it would be easier in 2024.

How many of Trump's nominees were actually rejected by the Senate? I can't think of many, to be honest.

No Joe, We off shored industry over the last 30 years which weakened the USA economically and militarily. If that had not happened this bogus “supply chain problem” would not be problem. If you don’t agree then you are Free Traitor™ globalist shill.

IIRC many (most?) of Trump's nominees had to wait for 30 legislative days for the Senate to take a vote on them. This was according to Senate rules even though Republicans had a majority in the Senate. Biden seemed to have his cabinet in office much faster.

It often took months, even years, for a person to go from accepting a nomination until that vote. People who accepted a Trump nomination had their lives, and the lives of their families, turned inside out to find anything that the evil Dems could publish about them ... true, false or rumor.

The Washington swamp cares only for itself and its power. Disgusting

Joe, I am an anti union and pro worker. I know a pinhead GOP RINO can’t understand that. But I am normal patriot, not a glow-BULList Free Traitor™.

Re: How many of Trump's nominees were actually rejected by the Senate? I can't think of many, to be honest.

Sarcasm...

Whenever I criticized Trump's appointments for not being Conservatives, several Q-bots would show up and explain that Conservatives could not win a majority vote in the Senate.

My solution - leave the job unfilled, and make the Deep State come to the Oval Office every time they needed an executive decision or signature.

Instead, Trump just kept Obama people in their old jobs or promoted Deep State lifers.
