NBA superstar Lebron "Shanghai" James couldn't be bothered representing the USA.
"No, I think I'm going to play for the Toon Squad this summer instead of the Olympics. I think that's what I'll focus on, trying to beat the Monstars or the Goon Squad, we call them now."

The U.S. men’s basketball team seems to be losing to international opponents so frequently these days that I wouldn’t even bother calling the results an “upset” anymore.

I picked France to win the Gold going in, they will eventually catch up to the US, they are becoming a basketball factory.

The author is being too harsh here. I don't even follow the NBA, and yet I knew that this dope is no longer good enough to play on the U.S. national team.
Maybe we ought to go back to college players.....
Fairly soon, less than half the NBA will be Americans. European players are catching up quickly. NBA will basically get their players from the Euro Leagues and not college.
Either Gonzaga or Baylor had a French player this year. He was from Provence but appeared to be a Muslim from (probably) Morocco. I expect that this will be the composition of future French sports teams. French no-go-zones will be the training grounds of the future.
The Banlieues of Paris and Marseille are becoming like the New York City playgrounds.

Victor Wembanyama is going to be the next big name from France. 7 foot 2 with a 7 foot 8 wingspan. Kid is 17, needs to bulk up a bit, but he looks like the next dominant player.
In 92 the Dream Team was all about being proud to represent the USA. Those guys wanted to win for the USA.
Now, the woke nba kneels during the National Anthem, criticizes the very country that has enabled them to become millionaires, and all the while supporting the Chicoms.
Hard for me to not laugh these kneelers lost to France.

Joel Ayayi’s hometown is Paris. The Zags have had several French players over the years, to include Ronny Turiaf and Killian Tillie. None of these young men came from “no go zones.”
Why would any advertiser pay to put losers on tv?
