The author is being too harsh here. I don't even follow the NBA, and yet I knew that this dope is no longer good enough to play on the U.S. national team.
Either Gonzaga or Baylor had a French player this year. He was from Provence but appeared to be a Muslim from (probably) Morocco. I expect that this will be the composition of future French sports teams. French no-go-zones will be the training grounds of the future.

Basketball was once the greatest sport ever invented. Television and the NBA have turned it into crapball. The colleges held out for several more decades but ultimately sold out in pursuit of the tv dollar, and because they wanted to recruit the ghetto athletes, often sub-literate, whose sole ambition was to play in the NBA. I’m one of the many who remember what basketball used to be and who find the modern U.S. version unwatchable. I walked away years ago.
Television has destroyed a great sport. I hope U.S. basketball finds a way to come back, but I’m not optimistic.
Of course the reason is "Climate Change".

I don’t watch the Olympics anymore, especially basketball. So I ask, did any payers kneel during the National Anthem? Did they even play the National Anthem?
Did not ever care much for the olympics...always found them quite boring. Enjoyed it when hokey team beat the Ruskies but that was a long time ago when players actually acted like they liked the country. Don’t mean to imply all or even most are like that put it’s just to much of a hassle not ever knowing which one you might root for and then find out they’re and American hating A-hole!!!
I find myself rooting for whomever the USA is playing. Is that terribly wrong? I might feel different about some of the events where there are real patriots playing but I don’t know who they are.
I hope we don't get a single medal and I'm serious.
