I remember the 76 Olympics, first one I was old enough to watch. Watched the USA beat the Ruskies for the gold in bball. I remember sitting on the sofa cheering on the USA. Those guys cared about winning for the country.

In 92 the Dream Team was all about being proud to represent the USA. Those guys wanted to win for the USA.

Now, the woke nba kneels during the National Anthem, criticizes the very country that has enabled them to become millionaires, and all the while supporting the Chicoms.

Hard for me to not laugh these kneelers lost to France.

What you said about the current unpatriotic, self centered basketball team not being worth rooting for goes double or triple for the mannisg women’s US soccer team. I’m actually rooting against them, rather than being merely disinterested. What ingrates!

I saw the USA play Spain at the ‘84 Olympics. Only time I ever saw Jordan play live. One thing I remember was riding the bus through the ghetto to get to the Los Angeles Forum. That made quite an impression on a suburban kid. Haha.
