What Rights Does the Privacy Rule Give Me over My Health Information?

Most of us believe that our medical and other health information is private and should be protected, and we want to know who has this information. The Privacy Rule, a Federal law, gives you rights over your health information and sets rules and limits on who can look at and receive your health information. The Privacy Rule applies to all forms of individuals' protected health information, whether electronic, written, or oral. The Security Rule is a Federal law that requires security for health information in electronic form.

It's discrimination based on medical records.

It is creating a two tier society where those that unvaxxed are second class citizens and treated like crap because they don't want to risk their health taking that Franken shot.

Plus these prick businesses never asked for medical records such as vaccinations to enter their shop or restaurant before so why do it now unless you are trying to make life as difficult as possible for the unvaxxed and put them under duress to take it.

Keep in mind this is not a vaccine in the 1905 sense. It's an experimental mRAN gene therapy.

My employer has reopened our offices. The “mask” requirements have changed. It “vaccinated” you show your CDC shot card to security and you get a wristband that you wear in lieu of mask.

If you don’t want to show or havent talent the shot, you have to continue to wear a mask.

So I have to give my private medical info to building security? How are the not creating a hostile work environment by forcing me to show I took the shot or to wear evidence I have not? I’m not going to feel comfortable being stared at or gossips about. How is that not some form of discrimination? Now I have to publically announce my medical history by wearing a mask?

Of course they can ask you. You are not compelled to answer. You can waive your own privacy if you want after all it’s your information.

However in the private sector your refusal to answer may result in you being barred from a job or an activity so long as it is not a government edict

Everyone here loves to crow about freedom and private rights. So then celebrate it. A private enterprise has the freedom to privately mandate or not what it sees fits. If objectionable the free market will take care of it and usually pretty quickly.

Let’s see if people around here will now really defend freedom and private choice or as many will encourage lawfare in order to impose their will on a private organization.

Yes they can. Really folks come on. Use your heads. Various places have been asking about your vaccine history forever. Schools won’t let you in without your MMR. If your employed in patient touching medical you probably are forced to get the flu shot every year. You ALREADY KNOW they CAN ask for your vaccine records, stop believing stupid stuff that you have all the facts necessary to know is a lie.

You are correct. HIPPA only applies to a very specific set of enterprises and people. But I see an awful lot of people foolishly promoting a falsehood based on ideology. On some ways they are as eager to impose their will on private entities as the left

A private enterprise has the freedom to privately mandate or not what it sees fits.

In mandating vaccinations, these enterprises are acting as an arm of government - enforcing compliance with a goal government desires, but politicians are too afraid to make laws to enforce.

Nobody is asking in my locked down state of Oregon. Governor Brown has seized further control till July. We have been warned, if we don't get to 65%, then she changed her mind and made it 70% vaccinated including 16 and up, we will not open up.

Meanwhile she has commanded all restaurants, drug stores, grocery stores and retail check the citizens before entering and the unvaccinated ones must be kept in a separate location.

If you work for the government in any capacity, they cannot mandate the vaccine. My son works for the VA, an anti vaxer extraordinaire, he was willing to risk his job of 17 years to not get the vaccine, to not wear a mask.

The little secret is only half of his hospital is vaccinated and if you have paid attention half of the CDC and the NIH employees have been vaccinated.
