My employer has reopened our offices. The “mask” requirements have changed. It “vaccinated” you show your CDC shot card to security and you get a wristband that you wear in lieu of mask.
If you don’t want to show or havent talent the shot, you have to continue to wear a mask.
So I have to give my private medical info to building security? How are the not creating a hostile work environment by forcing me to show I took the shot or to wear evidence I have not? I’m not going to feel comfortable being stared at or gossips about. How is that not some form of discrimination? Now I have to publically announce my medical history by wearing a mask?
Yup—you just had a learning moment—and found out that the “land of the free” is not so free....
I hate to deliver the bad news—but they are lying about everything else as well.
Once you “get” that, then you can relax and enjoy life.
You don’t have to do anything. Including work for that employer IOC you object to their policies.
Sounds illegal to me.
By mandating that the non-vaccinated have to wear a mask you are making their "choice" public. In my case this is out of due regard and consideration - I don't believe covid is that dangerous for me or my demographic and I do believe there are significant risks with the vaccines.
Anyway, in my case it is a choice not to be vaccinated. We can argue all day whether that is a political statement, simple personal choice, protected information etc. However, there are others who may not have a choice. They may have had previous serious allergic reactions to components used in the vaccines. Due to other unquestionably protected medical conditions and considerations they may have been advised by their primary care physician not to be vaccinated.
Therefore, when people see others still wearing masks at work they *may* think "oh, an anti-vaxxer or he/she doesn't trust big pharma...etc." or they may think "Uh, I wonder what's wrong with Bill? Is he sick? Does he have a condition?..." That spells trouble. The very next time Bill doesn't get the raise he feels he deserves, or the promotion, etc. he can very plausibly go to HR and file a complaint. It would go something like: I was passed-over due to questions about my health and long-term viability to the company - questions that were raised dut to your policies exposing my medical information...
It is my belief that companies that allow or enact this two-tier system are leaving themselves wide open to such challenges. Anyone and everyone who remains outside the trial group of the experimental vaccines and thus publicly "outed" now has the basis for a grievance if/when things don't break their way.
“ Now I have to publically announce my medical history by wearing a mask?”
I wear mine Without a problem. The covid shot is not proven safe not effective. It hasn’t even been FDA approved. If I’d gotten the shot I’d wear the mask and no one has to know I didn’t get the shot. That they care whether or not I did is idiocy.
