Mobile phone footage of Friday’s arrest shows Mr. Sherwood standing on the stepladder with a Bible in his hand outside a Tube station in Uxbridge, west London. Officers can be heard telling him to get off his steps before they appear to grasp his hands and pull him down.
Onlookers can be heard shouting, ‘He’s an elderly man – take it easy with him, before officers put Mr. Sherwood in handcuffs and take him to a police car.
Mr. Sherwood said officers grilled him over his attitude to gay people. He was even asked what he would do if his children were gay. The married father-of-two said: ‘The question was irrelevant to the allegation against me. I said I would seek to bring them to Christ, but of course, I would love them no matter what, because they’re my children.’

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said its directorate of professional standards had assessed video footage of Mr. Sherwood’s arrest and had found no evidence of misconduct by officers.
The grandfather claimed he was left bruised after police pulled him from a mini-stepladder he was using and cuffed his hands behind his back.
Mr. Sherwood, a pastor for 35 years, said: ‘I wasn’t making any homophobic comments, I was just defining marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman. I was only saying what the Bible says – I wasn’t wanting to hurt anyone or cause offense.
‘I was doing what my job description says, which is to preach the gospel in the open air as well as in a church building.
‘When the police approached me, I explained that I was exercising my religious liberty and my conscience. I was forcibly pulled down from the steps and suffered some injury to my wrist and to my elbow. I do believe I was treated shamefully. It should never have happened.’
Mr. Sherwood, who preaches at an independent evangelical church in north London, was arrested under the Public Order Act for allegedly causing alarm or distress. He was released without charge but a file has now been passed to the Crown Prosecution Service for review.
A man who was with Pastor Sherwood during the arrest later wrote:
“This arrest of a faithful minister for doing nothing other than declaring what the Bible teaches about one of the important moral issues of our time reveals a dangerous assault upon freedom of speech and, not least, upon the freedom of Christian pastors to declare in public all that the Bible teaches. The State has no right to designate that some parts of God’s word are no-go areas.”
The Metropolitan Police said a member of the public flagged down patrol officers and alleged Mr. Sherwood had made homophobic comments.
Many Americans decided to state on various social media that this is what they want in America and is why we must keep fighting!
Christianity is under attack and if we continue walking this path it will only lead us into the fall of Christianity and with it our western values!

Britain does this sort of thing to more than Christians. People who have never been convicted of a crime can be placed on police probation. Brits have no free speech rights. Well, they don’t have a real constitution either. Parliament could set up death camps tomorrow and it would be “constitutional”.
True Christianity will never go into hiding. It may be more discreet, but it will not go into hiding.
The sacrament of marriage is made between a man and a woman. Sadly, in our culture the sacrament was trashed long before the Gay Crusaders arrived. No fault divorce and serial monogamy were responsible, not gays.
Secular marriage, by definition, is not sacramental. Secular society in the post-modern era may define marriage however it pleases.
I don’t have to like it, and neither do you, but that is the present state of affairs.
Remember, at one time the Kings of Judah and Israel had multiple wives. That was their prerogative. I guess.

Where do they put the arrested people? Here in the US, they release them without having to post bail, regardless of what they have done, with the exception of the “trespassers” of 1/6. They will probably get 25 years to life for what they did or did not do. It will not matter. I think Ashli Babbit might accept a life sentence, rather than a death sentence.
George Orwell might well feel vindicated in today’s UK. “What did I tell you?” he would say.

Christianity, when God Wills it to be, will definitely "go up". . . .maybe sooner than we think.
There are those here that can explain it better than I can.
Few people understand that religious freedom is not about religion; it is about freedom itself.
Religious freedom was seen by the Founders as a proxy for all freedoms - because “religion” is what we believe to be true and the code we live by. If you can’t hold beliefs and live by them, then you have no freedom at all.
Even non-religious people (like myself) are protected by religious freedom, because if the government can criminalize religious expression, the government can control all speech and all behavior.
People are making a big mistake when they see this as an attack on Christianity. It is an attack on everyone’s rights - ALL of our rights.
All patriots everywhere need to join forces and fight this tyranny wherever it is encountered. It not only Christianity that is at stake - it is Liberty itself.
It’s coming here. I used to live in the UK. What I saw when I moved back in 2000 were warning signs. I told family and friends we’re about 20 years behind and to wake up. Seems like it’s accelerating.
