Is Donald Trump Really Getting Ready to Run Again?
National Interest ^ | 3/1/2021 | Rachel Bucchino

While Trump has clearly cemented a dominant position in the GOP, he hasn’t explicitly said whether he plans to take a crack at running for a non-consecutive term. Experts, however, say that waiting to announce a 2024 bid could be the best thing for his candidacy.

“He has a lot to gain by waiting. He keeps his potential opponents off guard,” Ken Kollman, a political science professor at the University of Michigan, said. “Cruz, for instance, would not be able to go full force to run for president until he knows what Trump will do. Same with Hawley, Graham, Noem and Cotton.”

Trump should run for Scott's Senate seat.

He could be a thorn in Chuckie and Nan's side, every day.

Or run for the House and get elected Speaker.

Now THAT would put the fear in ALL of them.

Of course he’s going to wait to announce what he’s going to do or not do...What we do now he said he was going to ‘actively’ support good republican candidates......which will naturally keep him in the spotlight whatever decisions he makes.

One thing worth remembering.....Trump loves his audience of voters...and the stage as we now...but He loves “leverage” best of all. Having millions of US citizens in his sphere of influence is Huge!

The most logical, sensible thing for Trump to do, for the good of the country, is to run again, since he would win. He started MAGA and he can lead the nation to its attainment.

Cannot understand the “deep thinkers” here who search out reasons that he shouldn’t run. But, people can be insane.

I think he will. Not going to announce real soon. Maybe tease for a while and watch the dems squirm and announce and watch them scream later. After he announces they will try harder than ever to make stories up or pin things on him to make him lose voters.

The only thing we can predict about Donald J Trump is that he is unpredictable. For the moment though, he seems to relish the role of being the disuptor in Republican politics.

No
Couldn’t win. Dominion still exists in enough states. Dumpster fires abound. And remember, the Freeper screener on outside the box thinking won’t allow discussions of him being back in power in 2021. Yep, plenty of book burners in Freepland. Imagine that. Some pigs are more equal than others, even here.

Until one or both of these two say they’re not running in 2024, my odds-on favorite for the GOP ticket is: Trump-Noem.

Not for real. What I might do as an overarching strategy though, is to run in the primary to keep the media off of the others, especially if DeSantis, or Noem was running.

So you're saying Trump shouldn't run for president again?

I suspect the left would love to run against Trump again.

It's too soon for anybody to run for president in 2024. I'm sick of the non-stop presidential election cycle. Ideally, campaigns would start in January of a presidential election year. Even that gives you nearly a full year of campaigning (out of every four years). That's about all a reasonable person can be expected to stand.

We still haven't resolved the issues of the past election that allowed Trump's victory to be stolen from him. So before we focus on the next, we need to fix what happened in the past.

NOT ONLY DOMINION. It’s those election committees in each state who are suspect. The NV bard of electors as an example still refuse to show the machines months after the election.

What do you mean “getting ready to”?

He started over 5 years ago and never stopped.
