Ive been on this protocol since April
Prophylaxis
While there is extremely limited data, the following cocktail may have a role in the prevention/ mitigation of COVID-19 disease. This cocktail is inexpensive, safe, and widely available. It should be noted that a recent publication suggests that melatonin my reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection, while many papers suggest that Vitamin D deficiency increases the risk of infection and is associated with a significantly worse outcome.
Melatonin (slow release): Begin with 0.3mg and increase as tolerated to 2 mg at night
Vitamin D3 1000-3000 u/day. Note RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) is 800-1000 u/day. The safe upper-dose daily limit is likely < 4000 u/day.
Vitamin C 500 mg BID (twice daily) and Quercetin 250 mg daily Note that prolonged high dose quercetin has very rarely been associated with hypothyroidism. should be used with caution in patients with hypothyroidism and TSH levels should be monitored.
Zinc 50-75 mg/day (elemental zinc). After 1 month, reduce the dose to 30-50 mg/day.
Famotidine 20-40 mg/day
Hmmm, maybe thats why Im so healthy, all those zinc rich foods are my favorite foods. Also, living in Arizona I get plenty of Vitamin D
.
Bttt
Don’t forget Quercetin....eat plenty of onions!:)
I've seen it reported Quercetin helps with the intake of zinc into cells. I take 800 mg every third day or so. I take 5,000 IU of D3 with K daily. I believe the safe level for D3 is 10,000 IU or less for those who don't get many rays?
Thats where I fail, I hate onions.
Vitamin D3 dosage a little low, I think to prevent idiots from overdosing. Vitamin D toxicity definitely messes with calcium metabolism
P4L
I take 200% plus of zinc and D3 every day.
CC
It does affect calcium metabolism. That’s why I look for a D3 supplement which contains vitamin K. Vitamin K helps with getting the calcium to the right places in the body. Vitamin K is found in green vegetables like Spinach. Too much vitamin K can cause the blood to coagulate too well.
Pepcid is cheap
... Too much vitamin K can cause the blood to coagulate too well.
Which is potentially a problem with COVID associated intravascular clotting events
Too much zinc can cause issues. Taking a little copper helps to offset this, I understand.
Yep. I add a single aspirin daily to my regimen if I feel like I’m coming down with something.
Maybe cheap, but what are the side effects? I understand taking it daily if you have heartburn, etc., but a better plan for antihistamines might be to wait for the onset of symptoms?
Had to add asa this week, asymptomatic COVID + test... currently hiding in basement, wife (-) and I would like to keep it that way.
Vitamin D3 1000-3000 u/day. Note RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) is 800-1000 u/day. The safe upper-dose daily limit is likely < 4000 u/day.
...
Ive taken at least 5,000 units of D3 per day for a decade or more.
My doctor tested my d levels and told me I was the only person he ever tested who had adequate levels.
In winter, I take 10,000 units daily.
If I get the flu I follow the vitamin D hammer, taking 35,000 for each of 3 days. Knocks out symptoms and ends it.
