FOX News Rick Leventhal Confirms Our Prior Reporting – 94% of COVID-19 Deaths Had “On Average 2-3 Other Potential Causes of Death”
Gateway Pundit ^ | 09/24/2020 | Joe Hoft

Posted on 09/24/2020 8:22:47 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Rick Leventhal was on FOX News Tuesday night and he discussed COVID related deaths and the percent of those with serious co-morbidies. This was first reported by The Gateway Pundit in late August.

We dropped a direct hit on the Democrat Party, their mainstream media and their coronavirus narrative and all hell broke loose.

We’ve never seen anything quite like this. Democrats, their fake news media and their ‘fact checker’ allies were completely outraged over our post reporting that only 9,210 Americans died from the coronavirus alone. The rest of the coronavirus victims in the US according to the CDC had different serious illnesses and co-morbidities.

The other tens of thousands of COVID-19 deaths reported by the CDC in the US had on average 2.6 additional health issues.

Twitter took down a tweet on these statistics. CNN slandered President Trump and the Gateway Pundit and encouraged Twitter to take down a tweet based on our post that the President retweeted.

It is very clear that Democrats and their media still don’t want Americans to know the full truth about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our post was labeled – SHOCK REPORT: This Week CDC Quietly Updated COVID-19 Numbers – Only 9,210 Americans Died From COVID-19 Alone – Rest Had Different Other Serious Illnesses

The gist of the article was that COVID-19 is not nearly as deadly as first projected by the WHO in January and then by Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx in March. Based on CDC numbers this past week only 6% of all deaths attributed to COVID-19 were deaths where the only factor in the individual’s death was COVID-19.

From the CDC website.

For all the other deaths reported by the CDC linked to COVID-19, the individuals who passed away had 2-3 other serious illnesses or co-morbidities. This comes from actual data from the CDC (as posted above).

Then CNN wrote an hit piece this report, the President’s retweet and our article entitled – Twitter removes QAnon supporter’s false claim about coronavirus death statistics that Trump had retweeted

They also tweeted out their work:

Twitter has taken down a tweet containing a false claim about coronavirus death statistics that was made by a supporter of the baseless QAnon conspiracy theory — a post that President Trump retweeted earlier in the day https://t.co/QL65Bjw0Fe

— CNN (@CNN) August 30, 2020

The rest of the media and social media went into a frenzy as well. Others shared tweets related to our post:

6%

— Charlie Kirk (@charliekirk11) August 30, 2020

Candice Owens tweeted:

The CDC now claims that 94% of all coronavirus deaths were supplementary, meaning, the person had co-morbidities. Less than 10,000 Americans have died from Covid-19 alone. #Coronavirus is and always has been a hoax. Democrats masked & impoverished America to rig an election.

— Candace Owens (@RealCandaceO) September 1, 2020

Donald Trump Jr responded to a tweet attacking our post:

The data came from the CDC!!!
Are you fricken kidding me with this spin??? https://t.co/kZx6WXt7Jo

— Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) September 1, 2020

But other media outlets published reports on the following Sunday and Monday rehashing our report with numbers from the CDC. ABC, CBS and FOX all posted articles that supported the position in our post – yep, we were right.

But Democrats and the media could not have it. So the fact checker allies at Facebook came after us as well – not one, not two… but six of them!

Judge Jeanine Pirro invited Dr. Robert Hariri on to discuss these same numbers released by the CDC a week after our post was published.

Dr. Robert Hariri agreed entirely with our assessment.

Dr. Hariri: What we know is that the vast majority of people that die from this disease are from a very advanced age or they have more than one serious life threatening condition. These co-morbid conditions can be be characterized as bad health. They include things like diabetes, high blood pressure, pre-existing cardiac disease, immunology disease, and it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that these people are at risk of dying regardless of the precipitating factor.

These are the people who unfortunately pass away during a heat wave or just when they’re exposed to things like seasonal flu. So what’s striking though is that the CDC data really suggests that had we paid more attention to the pre-existing diseases and had we used that as a factor in who we should protect, in other words, we know who’s got diabetes and hypertension and heart disease. And if we knew that and focused our isolation measures and protective measures on them and allowed the rest of the population to go about their business we might be in a very different position today.

Now last night, Rick Leventhal on FOX News brought up these numbers again:

The vast majority of people who were listed as dying from COVID-19, 94% of them had other morbidity conditions. On average 2-3 other potential causes of death. Now we have numbers from Milwaukee County that may be even more startling. As of this past Sunday, 410 out of 422 deaths there attributed to COVID-19 occurred in patients with other underlying potential deadly health conditions.

The China coronavirus really affects a small part of our population, sick and old Americans. This has always been the case.

This is breathlessly delivered non news.

Over 70% of seniors have high blood pressure. There is some variance men / women, but over 70% have that comorbidity, which will generally lead to others quickly.

It’s essentially normal for old folks to have these comorbidities so saying old folks with them die from the virus is saying nothing additional to . . . old folks more often die of the virus.

I’ve said this before.

If someone had prior conditions but they were likely to live a lot longer if they didn’t get covid then it’s reasonable to say they died of covid.

So saying “94% of COVID-19 Deaths Had “On Average 2-3 Other Potential Causes of Death””, doesn’t paint an accurate picture.

In other words, Covid-19 HASTENED their death. We should call Covid a death-accelerator.

Or, more succinctly ‘It’s essentially normal for old folks to die of something.’

Don’t give up...keep pushing Biden over the finish line with these bogus inflated death numbers, then all of this can go away as far as the media is concerned.

Any cause of death is hastening the inevitable. Nobody lives forever. If I get shot, the bullet merely hastened my death. I was going to die of something anyway.

But I died of a gunshot wound. We should be clear about that.

As I have posted several times my Mom “died” of COVID.

In fact:

She was nearly 90.
She smoked for 65 years, until age of 80.
She had CHF and was on oxygen.
She had “spots” on her lungs. Doc said it was probably lung cancer but treatment was not an option as she would not survive.

SO - COVID19 was kind of the “Last nail” as they say. BEFORE COVID19 we knew ANY bad respiratory event would likely cause her death.

MY PROBLEM - The Serial Killer, Governor Tom Wolf of PA, did nothing to secure nursing homes and yet implemented strict visitation prohibitions on family.

COVID19 entered the facility thru staff and NOT thru family visitation.

My Mom was on a very short time line at best. What tortures us is the ISOLATION imposed on her. My family feels guilty that she passed with NO family present. The only solace we have is knowing that a nurse who cared for my Mom and made my Mom her “pet patient” for years sat with her for hours until she passed.

You can claim they’re inflated all you like, but the excess mortality figures show the real story, and we’ve been greatly exceeding the excess mortality threshold every single week since March.

None of this helps Biden one bit, particularly once President Trump announces the approval of a safe and effective vaccine. That’s why the Democrats are falling all over themselves to claim the vaccines are “rushed” or “dangerous”. They know that President Trump is about to take their months of fearmongering and overhyping COVID-19 and turn it all against them. And there’s nothing they can do to stop it but inject more fear into the conversation, this time directed at the vaccines.

So roughly, 6% of 200,000 = 12,000 direct covid deaths? Out of 32,000,000 confirmed cases. So a .0375 mortality percentage.

Assuming rough numbers, do I have that right?

I’m very sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. My condolences.

But I cannot help but wonder ... HOW MANY MORE YEARS COULD SHE HAVE LIVED HAD COVID-19 NOT EXISTED....??

I think It is still accurate to say that Covid-19 ACCELERATED her demise.

It’s normal for old folks to die of something? Yes, it is. 3 million die in the US each year, in normal years, and 65+ people are 2 million of that . . . in a normal year.

Excess Deaths this year are averaging well past that. That’s deaths of all causes, some from not getting treatment for fear of the virus at the hospital — and some from having the virus that killed them quickly untested.

Regardless, US death count attributed to the virus is 200K and almost all of them 65+. Excess Deaths this year, above normal years, are actually higher than 200K (most likely from untested folks who died quickly and there was no point in testing a corpse).

Higher than 200K = 10% of senior deaths above a normal year.

So yes, they do die of something. In a normal year that something gets 2 million. This year an additional 10%, and the year is not done. The graphs look like 15% by 1 Jan.

I am so sorry that you and your mom went through that. My heart breaks for you and others in your situation. I would absolutely love to see the governors who forced nursing homes to accept infected patients prosecuted for manslaughter for everyone who died as a result.

Sadly, the US largely made the same mistakes Sweden did when it came to protecting the elderly long term care facilities. Those should have been well protected as soon as we understood the devastating impact this disease has on older folks. At least Sweden admitted their failures and moved on. I haven’t seen that from anyone here so far.

Nope. Because you’re misunderstanding what that “6%” actually is. If you used that same standard with cancer patients, we would have almost no cancer deaths in the US. Because nobody dies directly from cancer. Cancer leads to multiple organ failure and they die of heart failure or lung failure or something similar. Or they get pneumonia and die from that.

The CDC has two designations for causes of death: the immediate cause of death (e.g. person’s heart stops beating) and the underlying cause of death (e.g. cancer). The underlying cause of death is the disease or injury which initiated the chain of events leading directly to death. In the case of COVID-19, what more commonly happens is the person gets COVID-19, it basically sandblasts the protective lining of the lungs, an opportunistic infection (such as pneumonia) moves in once the protecting lining is gone, and the combination of multiple infections on an already weakened body results in death.

What the CDC said was that on 6% of death certificates, the person filling out the certificate didn’t bother listing anything except COVID-19. That number should probably be 0%. But COVID-19 was still the underlying cause of death for those cases. Those 200,000+ people would still be alive today (almost to a person) were it not for COVID-19. We know this based on the excess mortality numbers. The US has exceeded the threshold for excess mortality every single week since March.

Let’s wait until we can compare mortality of 2018-2019 to 2020-2021. I think most of the deaths have been pulled forward by just a few months.

Actually the real statistical answer is ...

how much have those comorbidities been reduced due to attributing death to covid?

Are they counting BOTH as cause of death?
