On the weekend, China-loving Premier Daniel Andrews declared his own state a disaster because of Coronavirus figures that, while bad by Australian standards, would be the envy of most of the rest of the world.

“Victoria has recorded 429 new cases of coronavirus since yesterday, with the total number of cases now at 11,937. The overall total has increased by 380, due to 49 cases being reclassified – largely due to duplication. There have been 13 new deaths from COVID-19 reported since yesterday. They include a man in his 60s, two males and a female in their 70s, two males in their 80s and five females and two males in their 90s.”

Health professionals in Aged Care have told me that the deaths are of people who only had a few months to live anyway. Each of these deaths is a tragedy for loved-ones but how many of them would want the cost of saving them to be a new Great Depression when only a prosperous West can stand up to the likes of China.

My daughter works as a school teacher in Melbourne, and has been directed to conduct online classes, only.
The schools are closed, and there is no travel allowed between the States and territories outside Victoria.
She indicated that Victoria is regarded as the pariah of Australia, and all other States have closed off their borders to Victoria.
Other States have contained the infection rate and numbers of infection.
Attributes the sudden rise of Victoria Covid victims to opening up after lockdown, and several large family parties;
also when the population was threatened with lockdown, many residents left to go to other States and further transmitted Covid elsewhere.
She relates that Victoria is being threatened with a Stage 4 lockdown, which allows only one occupant of each housing unit
the opportunity to go outside for a total of one hour per day, for food, medical, chemist(pharmacy), or recreation.
Stage 4 Lock down is currently set for 45 days. Fines liberally imposed for any violation; mandatory face masks required when outdoors, and social distancing of 2 meters.
She also related that if Covid numbers not reduced, the populations is threatened with 12 -24 month lockdown,stage 4.(True ?)
