Now Even The COMMON COLD Is Being Counted As A Positive COVID-19 Result, CDC Says
Gateway Pundit ^ | 07/02/2020 | Eric A. Blair

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is essentially setting policy across the country, endlessly putting out a stream of so-called facts (that they then revise or rescind).

Their latest update on COVID-19, posted on Tuesday, is a real doozy. Here’s what the CDC said in a section headlined: What do your results mean?

“A positive test result shows you may have antibodies from an infection with the virus that causes COVID-19. However, there is a chance a positive result means that you have antibodies from an infection with a virus from the same family of viruses (called coronaviruses), such as the one that causes the common cold.”

That’s right, because COVID-19 is a coronavirus (like the common cold), your positive test means you have COVID-19 (or the common cold).

Coronaviruses (CoV) — called that because they have spikes around a central ball that looks like the sun — are part of a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from a cold to more severe diseases, including COVID-19 (caused by SARS-CoV-2), and others such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).

SARS -CoV-2 is also known as a novel coronavirus (nCoV) because it is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans.

Many of the symptoms from coronaviruses are similar: upper respiratory infection, fever, coughing, sneezing. While MERS and SARS can be serious — and SARS-CoV-2 as well, at least for the elderly and others with co-morbidities — most are treatable and nearly all people afflicted recover.

So why would the CDC equate COVID-19 with the common cold?

J.B. Neiman, a managing partner and general counsel of a Texas-based health care company that owns 13 free-standing clinics, has an idea. He told former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson, who has been on the forefront of covering the facts behind COVID-19, that the bottom line is money.

Neiman told Berenson he has “heard several stories of how discharge planners are being pressured to put Covid as primary diagnosis — as that pays significantly better. Hospitals want to avoid the discussion but if they don’t they risk another shutdown. This may be an explanation for why there is a gap in hospital executives saying they have plenty of capacity and the increasing number of Covid hospitalizations. You open up your hospitals for normal medical care and you test everyone of those patients — the result is higher percentage of patients who have Covid — now.”

The mainstream media is breathlessly reporting a spike in new infections (even though we’re all wearing masks, so how’d that happen?).

But virtually no one is reporting that deaths from the virus are way down.

On June 27, there were 623 deaths attributed to COVID-19, according to OurWorldInData.com. Two days later, the death toll in the U.S. was 265.

By comparison, 4,928 people died in the U.S. on the peak day, April 16. Deaths have been declining steadily, at least until June 26, when the toll reached 2,437 (the website notes that “some states added probable deaths” on that date). The deaths rose again to 1,270 on Tuesday, but at least one COVID watchdog said there was again a reason for that rise.

“That ‘spike’ yesterday includes more than 600 backdated NYC cases, most from three weeks or more ago. In reality deaths dropped again week over week (about 25%),” Berenson wrote on Twitter.

Until then citizens, you must wear your N95 mask, 24/7!

A variant of the coronavirus has long been known as one of the primary causative agents for the common cold. That must be how they are justifying this. More supporting propaganda for the scamdemic.

This would normally be good, because it is effectively another non-death stat, reducing the death rate from COVID-19.

However, the CDC is using this to encourage lockdowns and face mask use, when, obviously, it is benign.

Adding on the commingling of positive antibody tests (benign) with potentially more concerning positive active infections means everyone is getting mixed messages and Fearpers will continue to scream that the world and fellow FReepers are trying to kill them.

Kae, you are one of those.

When we go to the doctor and they say you have a cold but it's a virus so just go home....

My granddaughter was coughing her brains out.....FINALLY....after 3 doctors....someone gave her an antibiotic and it disappeared in a couple days. I still think she had the coronavirus.

So instead of “it’s the Flu, bro:, it’s now become “it’s a cold, bro”?

A big problem is that a lot of people really like wearing a mask, covering their faces and hiding their identity. A lot of people also really like the politicians and unelected bureaucrats commanding them what legal things they’re “allowed” to do and what Constitutionally-protected things they are prohibited from doing. They absolutely enjoy it ... not thinking or acting for themselves ... as adults and free citizens do.

CDC stopped counting cases of H1N1 in 2009 after it reached pandemic stage. We only know estimates for 2009 and 2010. After that they just called it “flu”.

This is entirely political.

Here in Los Angeles area the tv stations start out with the numbers of test results but do not explain more like it is a fake number. They are using this to get ratings and do not care about the economic ruin it is causing everyone else.

My experience (including with close family members) is that some people bought into the panic so fully that they convinced themselves that this was the end of the world and everyone else was a fool for not realizing it. Now they cannot get off that, no matter what data shows that it's not the end of the world.

In example, my wife (who began panicking when this was still only in China and she was urging everyone to join her) said to me in early June 'we're going to have 2,000 deaths a day, every day or the whole Summer and then in the fall it will get worse'. I just said we'd see. Well the numbers are in and we're getting a few hundred, not thousands. I reminded her of her prediction and mentioned the actual numbers to her and it was like her brain shut down for a moment, she froze and then she just started talking about something else like I'd never said it. I honestly believe that people like her - good people - are so invested in being right about this that they somehow WANT it to be bad. Human nature can be crazy.

There are plenty like her even here at FR who seem to really want this to get worse so they can say 'see, you fools! I was right, you were wrong!'

Yes, it is a scary thought, Dave. Heck, I thought as this virus-thing weakened as it has (as with most new viruses the death rate continues to plunge) and as we moved into the hot summer months people would tire of masks and being told what they can do ... outdoors!

But instead it has intensified which confirms for me what I've thought since the virus "peaked" in early April -- a quarter year ago!: This is all about politics ... about the Democrat/Left Party doing whatever they have do to no matter how many good people's lives they ruin, no matter the damage they inflict on our economy, our culture and our society (i.e., by maintaining a high level of fear, distrust, depression and anger among Americans ... pitting each one against the other) ... in order to not "allow" the American people to re-elect Donald Trump which would be a death-knell to the America/American hating, ultra-racist Democrat/Left Party.

The events you reported so well are likely a far-more common occurence than many people realize. I am still highly optimistic that despite the enormous damage that has been inflicted on America and Americans by the Democrat/Left we can still recover much of what we once had. The most critical element of that recovery is the re-election of Donald Trump ...

You are right that this coming election is unique: it's an election of who we want to rebuild the US economy that was just dismantled. Do we want a capitalist that just built the strongest econony we've seen in decades by doing things that all the experts told him could not work (who's the real expert, eh?) or a dementia addled communist tool.

Every election is important. But this is coming to a choice of whether we want to have America or something totally new, some sort of oppressive communistic country where the bill of rights can be suspended on a whim, people imprisoned because a single politician says so while others are not.

Basically do we want the USA to return to being like 2019 (peace, prosperity, optimism, winning) or to remain like 2020 (destruction, fear, oppression). That's the choice.
