The O2 monitor should alarm the second someone breaths on it because the O2 level in your exhaled breath is below the 19.5% OSHA set level. That is because your body efficiently absorbs O2 which is the whole point of breathing.
Please stop with this BS. If masks are so dangerous then doctors and nurses would be passing out in surgical rooms across the country and millions of southeast Asians, who have been wearing masks as a fashion statement for generations, would be dropping in the streets. If you don’t want to wear a mask, then don’t wear a mask, but stop pushing this BS disinformation to rationalize your own behavior.

At worst it restricts air-flow, but the air that goes through the filter is still 20.95% O2.
The test does not look scientific control at all to me... I guess the group mind think here will accept this as a real scientific proof.
They are awful but they must work. I’m stunned that the masks protected all the protesters. I thought for sure they were all goners but yet no positives at all. That’s when I knew it’s the masks that protect people. You have millions up against each other and the only thing they have is a mask? Yep. It certainly wasn’t social distancing that’s for sure.

Medical masks are used for very close contact with patients For an extended time (surgery, for example). In addition most ORs now have air scrubbers or sanitize with UV. (Why not do this for ERs too?)
As for droplet or airborne prevention, medical personnel wear much higher quality masks and face shields.
That is, we have modern ways of controlling the spread of disease. And we’re not using any of them, but instead are imposing useless and possibly destructive measures on the population. Good political theater I guess but useless. However, cheaper than providing any real protection by investing money in sanitation and health.

So... how do doctors and contractors wear them for long periods of time - and have for decades - without problem?
If people don’t have a bad reaction to having a mask on, then why do so many mask wearers slide them down so they don’t cover their nostrils?

As soon as I can sit at my sewing machine again after surgery, I’m going to make one that says, “I CAN’T BREATHE!”. I’m sure it’ll piss off some people for glomming on to the George Floyd meme. I hope it does. (I don’t wear a mask except to the doctor.)
I do have a pattern the allows you to tuck down the top part so you can breathe, and it isn’t too noticeable.
