Independent Journalist Tours The Cities Destroyed By Black Lives Matter Rioters

These could very well have been the most widespread simultaneous riots EVER in US history ... but the media coverage has simply not conveyed the scale of what occurred."

ependent journalist Michael Tracey has been traveling the country over the past few weeks to try and capture the wholesale destruction caused by the Black Lives Matter riots which he suspects the media is refusing to cover because they don't want to be perceived as "discrediting the movement."

"[Chicago Police] officer mentioned to me being shocked at how little media coverage the riots in these neighborhoods received -- an opinion locals tend to agree with," Tracey said while touring Chicago the other day. "The scale of it is crazy. But journalists apparently don't want to be perceived as 'discrediting the movement' or whatever."

"These could very well have been the most widespread simultaneous riots EVER in US history, at least within an extremely contained period of time (weekend of May 29 to June 1, scattered incidents afterwards) but the media coverage has simply not conveyed the scale of what occurred."

Fox News reported Monday that experts say the BLM riots are likely to be "the most expensive civil disturbance in US history" and are expected to "far exceed" the $1.4 billion in damages (in 2020 dollars) from the 1992 Los Angeles riots.

As Fox News reported: "In Minneapolis, where some 400 businesses were damaged, owners and insurance experts estimate costs of the damage to exceed $500 million, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune."

(Remember the old radio jingle for Denevi Camera?)

I'm sure those places aren't in such good shape now.

Because journalists are supposed to be political activists first and foremost.

Every one should look at the original articles and photos and share them.

I have no doubt. Mrs. L grew up in Sonoma County. Her parents are up in Placer County now, rabidly Anti-Trump of course. Her sister and her family are in South San Fran.

We were supposed to visit them for Dad’s 80th this fall. But they’re afraid of COVID so that’s cancelled. Truth be told I’m relieved and so is she.

I’m truly sorry about what’s happening where you are. I hope you have a solid bug out plan because this isn’t going to get better anytime soon. You think they’re crazy now? Wait until October.

I wish you good luck.

L

No but, the damage done is serious

I don’t have a way to demonstrate the disaster

Most of the activists involved in these protests, if not outright riots, vandalism and looting, will also soon be decrying all the new food and shopping deserts, as if there isn’t a direct cause and effect.

The Communists among us must really believe this is the right time to launch their revolution. We should use it as a way to arrest them using RICO.

Don’t go down in a “blaze of glory” for a state that reviles you but loves your tax input. Please get the hell out of there.

My local upscale mall in Bellevue, WA, just reopened yesterday.

I forget the exact date it was looted - feels like about three weeks ago.

Macy's must have worked overtime to get back up - everything on the main floor looked pretty normal, except for the jewelry section, which is shrouded in opaque plastic. They had expensive watches in the area I was familiar with - I do not know what they sold in the other jewelry sections.

The largest cell phone store in the mall (Verizon?) was still closed. They had window exposure to the sidewalk and got completely destroyed in the riot.

Champs Sports - which sells “urban” shoes and clothing styles - got annihilated during the riot and is still closed.

One of the local jewelry stores is still boarded up.

I walked right by the Amazon flagship store, got distracted, and completely forgot to check if it was open.

Tiffany is open, but they are only allowing small numbers of customers inside.

Both Apple and Microsoft have flagship stores in the mall.

Apple looked like it was open, but it is on the second floor, and I could not see inside.

Microsoft is still boarded up. Last week, Microsoft announced it would close all of its retail stores and go 100% online. But their Bellevue Mall store - which is the closest to the Redmond main campus - has big “Welcome Back” signs on its exterior, so maybe the Bellevue store is being preserved?

Nordstrom’s first floor got annihilated. Women's shoes and cosmetics. Very, very expensive. At least half the shoes on display are missing. And, almost every cosmetic display case is empty.

Michael Kors was annihilated - it is still boarded up.

Tesla has a showroom in the Mall. It looked undamaged. However, access to the cars used to be unlimited. Today, they have them fenced in, and you can only "visit" each car with a sales person.

Walnut Creek? No kidding? I liked Walnut Creek. Thought about moving there from the Valley. I liked San Fran too.

But, that was years ago. Still, Walnut Creek. Surprising.

The 'press' is committing suicide - they're not stupid enough to do this by accident.
