They did this with diamonds. Coming up with the term blood or conflict diamonds. I’m not a big diamond fan so I can safely say I have no conflict diamonds as jewelry. I might have some item with some industrial type diamonds in it but nothing comes to mind right away. That said I doubt anyone can source every item they own. It would be close to an impossible task. The best I can do is avoid some companies and countries which I object to mostly for political reasons. Probably I am far from ethically perfect in my few possessions. I still sleep ok at night.

Years ago I had the motor mounts on the 64 replaced with new ones from China. Didn’t last 2 years. 3 years ago when I had the transmission rebuilt they put new motor and transmission mounts in from Thailand. So far they’re holding up just fine. Anyone who restores old cars tries to avoid Chinese made crap. If Amrican made parts aren’t available the stuff from Thailand or India is much better quality than than from China.
