We enjoyed couple of classic Chicago style hot dogs yesterday. Out of 7 people in the store only 2 wore masks. Then we sat outside completely ignoring “social distancing guidelines” and enjoyed them with about a dozen other people.

It was glorious.

I noticed many who wear these stupid masks spend half their time adjusting them, taking them off and putting them back on repeatedly, and touching their faces more than those who don’t wear one!

I think masks are also a new sign of political correctness, with many wearers believing they’re morally superior to those who don’t wear a mask!

In my area, almost no one wears a mask outside. When going into a store, the masks come on. Lately, I have been seeing a few peope without masks in the stores. I suspect that more and more will stop using the masks long before Cuomo lifts the ban.

Many of the few retail outlets open in my area will keep nagging you about those damn masks that you may as well bring one, just to keep everybody’s mouth shut. Safeway Grocery, I’m lookin’ at you!

They have a staff member sitting in a chair at the entrance counting people going in and out.
Writing ‘important notes’ on a yellow pad about each individual.

As you enter the store, you get a muffled greeting from the staff, speaking with a cotton mask on. Not always clear exactly who they’re speaking to. I usually just ignore them.
I’m going into the store to spend some money. I’m not here visiting friends. Not interested in saying ‘Hi’ everytime I turn around.

But it was a dust mask and I had to turn it 90 degrees so the straps went over the ears instead of my head.
