The point being that comparing COVID-19 numbers to previous years' flu numbers is apples to oranges.

SOOOOOOOO...we are going to shut down the country EVERY YEAR???Did I say that? The point being that comparing COVID-19 numbers to previous years' flu numbers (as many do here and elsewhere in conservative media) is apples to oranges.

Apparently the covid-bros and covid-bras think that we should shut down the country every time until we are all destitute.

1) Coronavirus is highly contagious. The a Flu is highly contagious.
2). Coronavirus is airborne. The Flu is airborne
3). Coronavirus is a virus. The a Flu is a virus.
The a Flu infects 5.6 to 6 million people world wide every year. It kills anywhere from 250k to 600k a year.
In 2018 alone according to the CDC the Flu killed over 80k people. Did we hear a peep about it? Did we shut down the economy from it? Answer : No
We were first told the Coronavirus would kill 12 million, then 6 million, then 1 to 2 million, the. 500k p, then 100 to 200k, then 80k and now 60k. We went from 2 million to 60k in 10 days. Which is less than the 30 day incubation period. The point is they dont know what they are talking about.
Now parroting what you hear on the Sunday morning fake news B.S. shows in the left wing media does not make you come across as intelligent.
Just saying....

The CDC raw spreadsheet data can be found
here. If you take the first week in December as the start of the flu season (2019 week 49), As of March 28th (2020 week 13) there have been 68,254 deaths due to influenza and pneumonia.

This is: This line is spoken by Navin R. Johnson, played by Steve Martin, in the film The Jerk, directed by Carl Reiner (1979). The Jerk could also be called The Idiot. ... So The Jerk begins with him, homeless and dirty, telling his story, which begins, “I was born a poor black child.”
